The RRB NTPC Application Window is now active on the official website of the RRB. The RRB NTPC Notification 2026 provides a clear procedure for applying online. Here is a step-by-step guide to assist you with the RRB NTPC Application Process:

1. Visit the official centralized recruitment portal (rrbapply.gov.in).
2. Click on Apply and choose Create an Account (or click Already Have an Account to log in using your registered Mobile Number/Email ID and Password).
3. If creating a new account, provide basic details and verify both Mobile Number and Email ID using the respective OTPs.
4. Log in to the portal and select the relevant NTPC CEN (Graduate or Undergraduate) under Online Application.
5. Fill in your personal details, category, educational qualifications, and other reservation parameters.
6. Choose your post preferences and select your preferred medium for the examination.
7. Capture a live photograph using the integrated camera/webcam tool and upload your scanned signature as per the prescribed file dimensions.

9. Proceed to the payment gateway, pay the examination fee online, and submit the final form.
10. Download and save the final application confirmation receipt for future reference.

Application Fees 

To complete your RRB NTPC Application Form 2026, make sure you have submitted the application fee according to your category as mentioned in the RRB NTPC Notification. The application fee must be paid online using internet banking, debit/credit cards, or UPI. All applicable service charges are the responsibility of the candidate. Payment is only accepted through these online methods; alternative payment options are not available.

RRB NTPC 2026 Selection Process

1st Computer Based Test

The 1st Stage Computer Based Test (CBT) will be common for all RRB NTPC positions. This screening test will adhere to the educational standards required for the posts. The normalized scores from the 1st Stage CBT will be used to shortlist candidates for the 2nd Stage CBT based on their merit.

2nd Computer Based Test

Candidates for the 2nd Stage CBT will be shortlisted based on their normalized marks from the 1st Stage CBT. The total number of candidates selected will be 15 times the number of vacancies in each community category as advertised by the RRB, according to their merit in the 1st Stage CBT. However, the Railways reserve the right to adjust this number up or down, either overall or for specific categories, to ensure there are sufficient candidates for all the notified positions.

Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT)

A Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) will be conducted only for candidates who have applied for the posts of Station Master and Traffic Assistant. Candidates will be called for CBAT in a ratio of eight times the number of vacancies for each community category based on their performance in the 2nd Stage CBT. The CBAT carries a qualifying criteria, and candidates must secure a minimum T-score of 42 marks in each test battery to qualify.

Typing Test 

Typing Test will be conducted for the various posts such as Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Accounts Assistant cum Typist,  Accounts Clerk Cum Typist and Junior Clerk Cum Typist. According to the RRB NTPC Notification 2026, the details for the RRB NTPC Typing Test is as follows:-

• The Typing Skill Test (TST) will be conducted as a qualifying test (marks will not affect final merit).
• Candidates will be called in a ratio of eight times the number of vacancies for each community.
• Typing Speed Requirement in English is 30 words per minute and in Hindi is 25 WPM.
• Must be typed on a personal computer and no editing tools or spell check are allowed.
• For Hindi typing, Kruti Dev and Mangal fonts will be provided for the test.

Candidates will be called for Document Verification based on their performance in the examination. The number of candidates selected for this stage will match the number of vacancies, and they will be chosen according to their merit and preferences.

RRB NTPC Exam Pattern 2026

RRB NTPC 2026 Salary

RRB NTPC posts are classified into two categories: Graduate Posts and Undergraduate Posts. Each category includes various positions with their initial monthly salaries set according to the 7th CPC.
