NORCET stands for Nursing Officer Recruitment Common Eligibility Test conducted by All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) to recruit eligible candidates for the Nursing Officer position across various AIIMS institutions in India. NORCET Exam is conducted in two stages, i.e. Stage I Preliminary and Stage II Mains. Candidates who are planning to appear in the upcoming NORCET Exam should have a clear picture of the NORCET Exam Syllabus and Exam Format before beginning their preparation.
NORCET Preliminary Exam will be conducted for 100 marks, which is a qualifying examination, and those who clear this stage will proceed to the NORCET Main Exam. The AIIMS Nursing Officer Selection Process is designed to identify qualified and competent candidates for nursing positions across various institutions under the All India Institute of Medical Sciences. Candidates aspiring to secure this prestigious government job must go through a structured recruitment procedure that evaluates their professional knowledge, aptitude, and eligibility through different stages of assessment.

The NORCET Preliminary stage serves as a qualifying test, and only those candidates who clear it will be eligible to appear for Stage II, i.e., the NORCET Main examination. NORCET Preliminary examination will not be considered for determining the merit list or final ranking in the selection process. The Paper will contain 100 MCQs, each worth 1 mark.
Shortlisted candidates will appear in Stage II, in which 160 MCQs of 160 marks related to the subject covering the entire AIIMS NORCET syllabus of Nursing courses being taught at the essential qualification level, focused towards case scenario-based questions for testing nursing skills competency. The final selection of candidates will be determined based on their merit in the NORCET Mains score for appointment in any AIIMS or associated hospital.
Initially verification process will be conducted while submitting the application form prior to the announcement of the NORCET Mains examination results. Candidates who clear the Main Examination will be required to undergo a multi-stage document verification process in either online or offline mode, as specified, which will include validation of original documents by the respective AIIMS or hospital authorities. If, at any point during the recruitment process, a candidate is found ineligible due to not meeting the required educational qualifications, experience, or any other eligibility conditions mentioned in the official advertisement or Recruitment Rules, their candidature will be cancelled without prior notice, and the allotted position will be withdrawn.
