PM Modi Releases 14th instalment of PM-Kisan Yojana

PM Modi Releases 14th instalment of PM-Kisan Yojana Government Scheme 3 min read

Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the 14th installment of PM-Kisan Yojana in Sikar, Rajasthan on 27 July 2023. Prime minister Narendra Modi is on a two day (27-28 July) official visit to Rajasthan and Gujarat and also launched various projects in Sikar, Rajasthan.

Other initiatives launched by PM Modi:

  • In a program organised by the Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilisers, Prime Minister Modi dedicated 1.25 lakh PM Kisan Samriddhi Kendra (PM-KSK) to the nation and launched Sulphur Coated Urea (Urea Gold).

  • In the same event, launched the onboarding of over 1600 Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) on Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC).

Inauguration of 5 as well as foundation stone of 7 medical colleges:

  • Prime Minister Modi inaugurated 5 medical colleges at Dholpur, Chittorgarh, Sirohi, Sri Ganganagar and Sikar in Rajasthan. Along with this, the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone of 7 other medical colleges to be built in the state.

Inauguration of 6 Eklavya Model Residential Schools along with one KV:

  • In this program, Prime Minister Modi inaugurated 6 Eklavya Model Residential Schools in Rajasthan and one Kendriya Vidyalaya at Tinwari in Jodhpur district of Rajasthan.

Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan):

  • PM-Kisan is one of the largest direct benefit transfer schemes in the world.

  • PM-Kisan was launched on February 24, 2019 with the objective of meeting the financial needs of land holding farmers.

  • A financial benefit of Rs.6000/- per annum is transferred through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode to the bank accounts of farming families across the country in three equal instalments every four months.

  • The PM-Kisan scheme was initially meant for small and marginal farmers (SMFs) with land holdings up to 2 hectares, but later the scheme was extended to cover all landholding farmers.
