Prime Minister Modi inaugurated the 10th Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit- 2024 at Mahatma Mandir, Gandhinagar, on 10 January 2024. This summit will be organised from 10 to 12 January 2024.

Theme of 10th Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit- 2024:

  • 'Gateway to the Future'. Highlighting this year's theme, 'Gateway to the Future', the PM said that the future of the 21st century will be bright with joint efforts.

Countries and organisations participating in the summit:

  • This year's summit has 34 participating countries. 16 partner organisations are participating. The Summit is also being used by the Ministry of Development of the North Eastern Region (NER) to showcase investment opportunities in the NER.

Chief Guest of the Summit:

  • The President of the United Arab Emirates and Sultan of Abu Dhabi is Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

  • Heads of various global companies participated in this summit. Mainly among these: 
    • ArcelorMittal Chairman – Lakshmi Mittal
    • Toshihiro Suzuki - President of Suzuki Motor Corporation, Japan

    • Resolve to make India 'developed':
  • Addressing the inaugural ceremony, the PM reiterated his resolve to make India 'developed' by 2047. The next 25 years will become 'Amrit Kaal' in India.

20th Anniversary of Vibrant Gujarat Summit:

  • Referring to the 20th anniversary of the Vibrant Gujarat Summit, the PM said that the Summit has shown new ideas. This has created new gateways for investment and returns.
  • The PM said that a roadmap for the future was presented during India's chairmanship of the G-20.

In the past 5 years, 135 million people have emerged from poverty:

  • PM Modi reiterated that the changes taking place in India are empowering people by improving the ease of life.
  • The PM said that in the last 5 years, more than 13.5 crore people have come out of poverty. Meanwhile, the average income of the middle class is continuously increasing.
  • The PM also mentioned the record increase in female workforce participation, which is a big sign for India's future.

Continuous growth in India's infrastructure:

  • Within a decade, the number of airports increased from 74 to 149.
  • India's national highway network doubled.
  • Metro network tripled.
  • Increase turn-around time of dedicated freight corridors, national waterways and ports.

  • Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit was conceived in 2003 under the visionary leadership of the then CM Narendra Modi.
  • Its main objective was re-establishing Gujarat as a preferred investment destination or state.
  • It provides a suitable platform to brainstorm on agendas related to global socio-economic development, knowledge sharing, etc.
