Kumud Saini sole Indian gold medalist in 2024 Archery Asia Cup Stage 3

Kumud Saini won the sole gold medal for India at the Archery Asia Cup 2024 Stage 3, being held in Suwon, South Korea, on 8 June 2024. The Indian archery team finished its campaign in the Asia Cup with five medals - one gold, two silvers and two bronze.
17-year Kumud Saini was the only Indian archer to bag a medal in the individual events. The rest of the four medals came in the team event. Kumud won the gold medal in the individual women’s compound event. In the final, Kumud defeated South Korean girl Park Yerin 143-140 to win the gold medal.
She won the fifth and final medal for India in the Archery Asia Cup 2024 Stage 3 event. The gold medal added to her tally of two other medals she won as a member of the Indian women’s and mixed compound teams.

The 2024 Archery Asia Cup Stage 3 was held in the South Korean city of Suwon from 4 to 9 June 2024. It was the third event of the 2024 Archery Asia Cup.
The Archery Asia Cup Stage 1 was held in Baghdad, Iraq, in February, while the second stage, to be held in Bangkok, Thailand, was cancelled.
India won 14 medals—nine gold, four silver, and one bronze—at the first stage in Baghdad.
India sent 16 members -eight men and eight women players. Many of the top archers did not participate in the Suwon event.
Three-time Olympian Deepika Kumari and gold medal winner in the Baghdad event, top compound archers Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Aditi Swami and Abhishek Verma gave the Suwon event a skip.
158 archers from 18 Asian countries participated in the Suwon event.
