Karnataka men’s senior cricket team won its 5th Vijay Hazare Trophy by defeating Vidarbha in the final by 36 runs. The final of the 2024-25 Vijay Hazare Trophy was played at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara,Gujarat. The win at Vadodara also ended the five year title drought for Karnataka in domestic cricket.
Vijay Hazare Trophy is organised by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). It is a premier 50 overs limited over one day cricket tournament for the men’s senior team. The 2024-25 Vijay Hazare Trophy was played across many venues in the country from 21 December 2024 to 18 January 2025, in which 38 Ranji teams participated.
The victory over Vidharbha in Vadodara was the overall 5th title for the Karnataka team in the Vijay Hazare tournament.
Karnataka had previously won the title in 2013-14, 2014-15 ,2017-18 and 2019-20 season.
In the 2024-25 Vijay trophy final, Captain Karun Nair of Vidarbha won the toss and sent Karnataka in . In their allotted 50 overs Karnataka scored 348/6 in their allotted 50 overs. Ravichandran Smaran with 101 runs was the top scorer for Karnataka.
In reply the Vidarbha were all out for 312 runs and lost the match by 36 runs. Dhruv Shorey was the top scorer for Vidarbha with 110 runs.

BCCI introduced a premier domestic limited overs cricket tournament named Ranji One Day Trophy for the senior men’s cricket team in the 1993-94 season.
Initially the teams were divided into zones but in the 2002-03 season the format of the tournament was changed where all the teams were now divided into groups.
In 2007-08 ,the BCCI later renamed the tournament in honour of the legendary Indian batsman Vijay Hazare .
The first Vijay Hazare Trophy was won by Saurashtra.
