Updated: 01 Sep 2026
2 Min Read

Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Bhupender Yadav and German Environment Minister Carsten Schneider co-chaired the 4th Indo-German Environment Forum in New Delhi on September 1, 2026. The event marks another milestone in the long-running bilateral dialogue between India and Germany on environmental and climate policy, which has continued since 2008.
This year's forum was held under the theme "Together For More Resilience," reflecting the shared focus of both nations on building stronger, more sustainable systems to tackle environmental and climate challenges collectively.
The forum also served as a platform bringing together policymakers, private-sector representatives, think tanks, and other stakeholders to exchange ideas and strengthen practical cooperation between the two countries.
India was represented by Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav, who co-chaired the proceedings alongside his German counterpart, Carsten Schneider. Their discussions aimed to deepen bilateral ties on environmental protection and climate policy, building on the strong economic and industrial relationship already shared between India and Germany. Given the growing scope for collaboration in sustainable technologies and green economic growth, this year's forum is seen as an important step in advancing joint efforts on climate resilience between the two nations.
