World Boxing Cup 2025 Kazakhstan: India Wins 11 Medals, with 3 Gold

The Indian boxing contingent finished with 11 medals at the World Boxing Cup 2025, Kazakhstan, with three gold, five silver and three bronze medals. All three golds were won by women boxers - Nupur, Jasmine Lamboria and Sakshi.
The 2025 World Boxing Cup was held in Astana, Kazakhstan, from 30 June to 7 July 2025.
At the World Cup 2025 in Brazil, the Indian contingent won six medals - one gold, one silver, and four bronze. No Indian women's boxer took part in the Brazil edition of the World Cup 2025
The Indian women's boxers outshone their male counterparts by winning three gold medals at the World Boxing Cup 2025 in Kazakhstan.
India sent a 20-member contingent to the World Boxing Cup 2025 in Kazakhstan.
Two-time world youth champion Sakshi won the first gold medal of the tournament by defeating Yoseline Perez in the final of the 54 kg category.
The second gold medal was won by Jasmine Lamboria in the 57 kg category, defeating Brazil’s Jucielen Romeu in the final.
The third gold was won by Nupur in the 80+ kg category, defeating Kazakhstan’s Yeldana Talipova.
A total of eight Indian boxers reached the final, but only three won the gold medal, while five had to settle for a silver medal.
World Boxing was established in April 2023.
The aim of forming a new Boxing federation is to ensure that boxing remains an Olympic sport.
It organises the World Boxing Cup in a calendar year, which is a ranking tournament for the world’s best male and female boxers.
In 2025, there will be two World Boxing Cups: one in Brazil and one in Kazakhstan.
Boxers earn ranking points through their performances at these two meets, with the top boxer qualifying for the World Boxing Cup Finals to be hosted in New Delhi in November 2025.
