The Harmanpreet Kaur-led Indian women's cricket team won the three-nation One-Day International (ODI) Tri-Series, beating the host Sri Lanka in the final by 97 runs. Hosts Sri Lanka, India and the South African women’s team participated in the Tri-series, which was held in Sri Lanka from 27 April to 11 May 2025.
All the Tri-Series matches were played at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
During the league stages, India won one and lost one match against the host Sri Lankan side, while it won both its matches against the South African side.
The Indian team topped the points table in the league stage and qualified for the final. Sri Lanka was second on the points table and qualified for the final, which was played on 11th May at the Premadasa Stadium.
In the final match, the Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur won the toss and elected to bat first.
The Indian team scored 342 for the loss of seven wickets in their allotted 50 overs.
The Indian Vice-Captain Smriti Mandhana scored a brilliant 116 runs off 101 balls in hot and humid conditions. It was her 11th ODI hundred.
After her dismissal, Jemimah Rodrigues scored a quick 44 runs off 29 balls, and Harmanpreet scored 41 off 30 balls, bringing the Indian total to 342 for seven wickets.
Chasing a victory target of 343, the Sri Lankan team lost its first wicket in the first over when Amanjot got the wicket of Hasini Perera in the third ball of the Sri Lankan innings. The Sri Lanka team was eventually all out for 245 runs in the 49th over.
Sneh Rana was the pick of the Indian bowlers with a figure of 4 for 38 and was ably supported by Amanjot Kaur’s 3 for 54.
