The Indian women's cricket team led by Niki Prasad won the inaugural Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Women's U19 Asia Cup 2024 title by beating Bangladesh’s team by 41 runs in the final. The final of the tournament was played on 22 December 2024 at the Bayuemas Cricket Oval, Kuala Lumpur Malaysia.
The Indian women’s team avenged the defeat of the Indian men's team which lost the final of the 11th ACC U19 Men’s Asia Cup to Bangladesh.
All matches of the tournament were played at the Bayuemas Oval cricket ground in Kuala Lumpur.
The inaugural ACC Women's U19 Asia Cup 2024 was organised by the cricket’s governing body in Asia, the Asian Cricket Council in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 15-22 December 2024. The tournament was played in T20 format.
Six teams - Malaysia, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, and Nepal participated in the tournament and were divided into two groups.
The top two teams from each group progressed to the Super Four stage where they played each other in a round-robin format.
The top two teams in the Super Four stage qualified for the final.
India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Nepal qualified for the Super Four, and amongst the four India and Bangladesh progressed to the final.
The Indian team led by Niki Prasad remained undefeated in the tournament.
In the final Bangladeshi captain Sumaiya Akter won the toss and invited the India team to bat first. The Indian team batter Gongadi Trisha was the top sorcerer with 52 runs. The Indian team made 117 runs in the allotted 20 Overs at the loss of 7 wickets.
Chasing a victory target of 118 runs the Bangladeshi team were all out for 76 runs in 18.3 overs. Aayushi Shukla with 3 wickets and Parunika Sisodia and Sonam Yadav took 2 wickets apiece.
India won the match with 41 runs.
