The one-of-a-kind Global Spirituality Conference ever organised in India came to an end on 17 March 2024 in Hyderabad, Telangana. The four-day conference, held from 14-17 March 2024, brought together spiritual leaders from all faiths at the world’s largest meditation centre, Kanha Shanti Vanam, situated on the outskirts of Hyderabad. The event saw the participation of the President of India Droupadi Murmu and Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar addressed the valedictory session.
Over 300 spiritual Gurus from across the country and worldwide participated in the conference. They discussed various topics relating to religion, spirituality and how it helps mankind.
The Union Ministry of Culture, in association with the Heartfulness Institute, organised the Global Spirituality Conference with the help of other organisations like The Art of Living Foundation, Ramakrishna Mission, The Mata Amritanandamayi Math, Parmarth Niketan, Archbishop of Hyderabad and others.
The Theme of the Global Spirituality Conference was ‘Inner Peace to World Peace'.
The theme highlights the conference's aim: to explore the evolution of consciousness and its impact on social harmony and sustainable development while creating a new trajectory for our global existence.
Speaking on the occasion, the Union Culture Minister G Kishan Reddy said the conference continues the country’s ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ ideology with solidarity among all classes, castes, and religions.
The Kanha Shanti Vanam is the headquarters of the non-profit organisation Heartfulness Institute. The Kanha Shanti Vanam is the world’s largest meditation centre.
In 2019, the centre received a platinum award from the Indian Green Building Council for following world-class environmentally friendly practices. It is the first mediation centre in the world to receive such recognition.
The Heartfulness Institute was established as a non-profit organisation by Ram Chandra of Shahjahanpur, also known as Babuji, in 1945. The Institute propagates and has developed a universal set of meditative techniques based on Yogic tradition that is suited to modern-day life.
