SBI PO Eligibility Criteria 2025 

Before applying for the SBI PO Recruitment 2025, candidates must check the SBI PO Eligibility Criteria to ensure that they are eligible to appear for the SBI exam 2025. Here we are providing the SBI PO Eligibility Criteria details, which consist of nationality, age limit and educational qualification:-

(a) Nationality:

The candidate should be an Indian citizen for applying in the SBI PO Recruitment 2025.

(b) Age Limit:

To be eligible for SBI PO Recruitment 2025, candidates must be between 21 and 30 years of age as of 1 April 2025. This means the candidate’s date of birth should be between 2 April 1995 and 1 April 2004, both dates inclusive.

Relaxation Age:

Specific categories will be granted certain relaxations in the upper age limit. The relaxation in the upper age limit is provided as follows:

(c) Educational Qualification

To apply for the SBI PO 2025 exam, candidates must meet the following educational criteria:

  1. Candidates must hold a graduate degree in any stream from a recognized university or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government.
  2. Final year/semester students can also apply provisionally. However, they must provide proof of passing their graduation on or before 30th September 2025, if shortlisted for the interview.
  3. Applicants with an Integrated Dual Degree (IDD) must ensure that the date of completion is on or before 30th September 2025.
  4. Applicants with professional degrees such as Engineering, Medicine, Chartered Accountancy, Cost Accountancy, etc., are also eligible.

Note:

  • The passing date of the qualification will be determined based on the date mentioned on the mark sheet or provisional certificate issued by the university or institute.
  • If the result is declared online (on the official website), a certificate from the relevant authority mentioning the date of result declaration will be treated as the date of passing.

SBI PO Application Process

To apply for the SBI PO 2025 Exam, candidates must complete the online registration process through the official website. The registration will only be considered complete once the application fee is successfully paid online before the deadline of 14 July 2025.

If you encounter any difficulties while applying, follow these steps carefully to complete your SBI PO application:

  1. Go to the SBI website and click on the “NEW REGISTRATION” tab.
  2. Fill in your personal and educational details, including category information, disability status, previous SBI employment, etc.
  3. Review the form carefully, agree to the terms and conditions, and submit it. Registration details will be sent to your email and mobile via SMS.
  4. Upload the required documents, such as your photograph, signature, and handwritten declaration, in the prescribed format.
  5. Complete the payment of the application fee online using a credit card, debit card, or net banking.
  6. Click on “Submit” to complete the process. Make sure to download and print the final application for future reference.

  1. The SBI PO Preliminary Examination will be an online Objective Test with a total of 100 marks.
  2. The test will consist of 3 sections, each with separate timing.
  3. Candidates will need to answer a total of 100 questions within a 1-hour duration.
  4. The Preliminary Examination will not have any sectional cut-off.

SBI PO Mains Exam Pattern

  1. The Main Examination will be conducted online and will comprise two parts: an Objective Test and a Descriptive Test. 
  2. The Objective Test will have a total duration of 3 hours and will consist of 4 sections with separate timing for each section. 
  3. The Objective Test will carry 200 marks, while the Descriptive Test will carry 50 marks and must be completed in 30 minutes.
  4. The Descriptive Test will take place immediately following the completion of the Objective Test. Candidates will need to type their answers for the Descriptive Test on the computer.
  5. To qualify for the Main Examination, candidates are required to achieve a minimum score in each section of the Objective Test (Test I, II, III, and IV) as well as in the Descriptive Test.

SBI PO Interview Pattern 

  1. Phase-III of the selection process will consist of three rounds which is the 3Psychometric Test, Group Exercise and Personal Interview
  2. The minimum qualifying marks for this phase will be decided by the Bank.
  3. Candidates must qualify independently in both Phase-II (Main Examination) and Phase-III.
  4. The marks obtained in Phase-II (both the Objective and Descriptive Tests) will be combined with the marks from Phase-III to prepare the final merit list.

SBI PO stands for State Bank of India Probationary Officer. This designation is highly esteemed in the banking sector for several compelling reasons:

Candidates are required to download the SBI PO 2025 admit card directly from the official bank's website. Physical copies of the SBI PO Admit Card will not be dispatched via post. To access the official website and obtain the admit card, candidates will need the following information:

The SBI PO Prelims Result determines candidates' eligibility for the SBI PO Mains examination.

The final merit list of selected candidates is prepared by considering the cumulative scores of the Mains examination and the interview process. The merit list is arranged in descending order of candidates' marks. Those who secure a place in the final merit list will receive an appointment letter from the State Bank of India.
