The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET-UG), conducted by NTA since 2019 with approval from the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and MHRD, serves as a common entrance exam for undergraduate medical admissions across all medical institutions. Since 2020, NEET-UG has been the qualifying exam for MBBS/BDS admissions in AIIMS and JIPMER. The NEET UG 2025 exam schedule has been officially released. As per the NEET UG Notification 2025, the exam will be conducted on 04 May 2025 (Sunday) in a single shift from 02:00 PM to 05:00 PM. NEET UG 2025 is open to Indian nationals, Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs), and foreign nationals.
For NEET UG 2025, candidates must be at least 17 years old at the time of admission or attain this age on or before 31 December 2025 to be eligible for admission to the first year of the Undergraduate Medical Course. There is no upper age limit, meaning candidates must have been born on or before 31 December 2008.
To be eligible for the NEET 2024 Entrance Exam, candidates must have completed and passed the 10+2 examination or its equivalent from a recognized board. They should have studied core subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, along with English from a reputable board. Candidates who are currently enrolled in the 10+2 or equivalent program are also eligible to appear for the exam.
The NEET UG 2025 application window is now open, and eligible candidates can apply until 7 March 2025 through the official website. Applicants must ensure that the email ID and mobile number provided in the Online Application Form belong to them or their parents/guardians, as all communication from NTA will be sent via email or SMS to the registered details. Admission to undergraduate medical and dental courses for the year 2025 will be facilitated through NEET (UG) - 2025. The available seats are categorized in All India Quota Seats, State Government Quota Seats, Seats in Central Institutions/Universities/Deemed Universities, State/Management/NRI Quota Seats in Private Medical/Dental Colleges or any Private University, Central Pool Quota Seats, All seats, including NRI Quota and Management Quota, in private unaided/aided minority/non-minority medical colleges and Seats in AIIMS Institutes across India/JIPMER.
Counselling for admission to seats controlled by State Governments/UT Administrations/State Universities/Institutions will be conducted by designated authorities of the respective State Governments. The NEET (UG) - 2025 results may also be used by other Central and State Government entities, adhering to their eligibility criteria and regulations. During counselling, eligible candidates' criteria, self-declarations, and relevant documents will be verified according to norms specified by respective authorities and/or Medical/Dental Colleges.

The NEET UG 2025 Admit Card will be released by the NTA either in the last week of April or the first week of May 2025. Candidates are required to download the Admit Card from the NTA website and attend the Examination at the designated Centre on the specified Date and Time mentioned in their Admit Card.
It is crucial to note that no candidate will be permitted to appear at the Examination Centre on any Date or Time other than what is allotted to them in their Admit Card. NEET UG Answer Key 2025 will be uploaded by the NTA, once the exam is successfully conducted. Following the examination, NTA will also publish the scanned images of OMR Answer Sheets and machine-recorded responses of all candidates on the official website.
Candidates will be able to challenge the Provisional Answer Key by submitting their objections online. A non-refundable processing fee of ₹200/- per answer challenged will be applicable. This challenge window will be open for a specified period, as indicated in the Public Notice issued by NTA. The National Testing Agency (NTA) will assess Answer Sheets using standardized procedures. Subsequently, the NEET UG Result will be published on the official website. Candidates will also be able to download their respective Score Cards. The NTA will compile the Merit List/All India Rank (AIR) following the Qualifying Criteria and other relevant regulations/guidelines stipulated by various authorities such as NMC/DGHS/MCC and Ministry of AYUSH/NCISM/CCIM/NCH/CCH/AACCC.

NEET UG Exam Cut-off Marks 2025 will be declared by the NTA along with the result. Candidates must get a rank in the merit list of NEET (UG) - 2025 for admission to Undergraduate Medical Courses. If two or more candidates achieve equal marks or percentile scores in the NEET (UG) - 2025, the inter-se-merit will be determined according to the following criteria:
a. The candidate with higher marks in Biology (Botany & Zoology) in the Test will be ranked higher, followed by,
b. If still tied, the candidate with higher marks in Chemistry in the Test will be ranked higher, followed by,
c. If the tie persists, the candidate with higher marks in Physics in the Test will be ranked higher, followed by,
d. If necessary, a draw of lots will be conducted using computer or IT methods without any human intervention.
