The National Testing Agency (NTA) released the NEET UG Notification 2026 on its official website on 8 February 2026. Along with the notification, the online application process for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate) 2026 has started for candidates seeking admission to undergraduate medical courses. Interested candidates can submit their forms online through the official NTA NEET 2026 portal till 8 March 2026. The NEET UG exam is the single national-level entrance test for admission to medical and allied health science programs in India. Conducted by NTA under the authority of the Government of India, it is mandatory for entry into MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BSMS, BUMS, and BHMS courses in all recognised institutions. Admissions to AIIMS and JIPMER are also done through NEET UG. As per the official notification, the NEET UG Examination 2026 will be conducted on 03 May 2026.

NEET UG Eligibility Criteria 2026 has been detailed through the NEET UG Notification PDF. Candidates should check the eligibility criteria first before they want to apply for the exam. NEET UG 2026 is open to Indian nationals, Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs), and foreign nationals.
For NEET UG 2026, candidates must be at least 17 years old at the time of admission or attain this age on or before 31 December 2026 to be eligible for admission to the first year of the Undergraduate Medical Course. There is no upper age limit, meaning candidates must have been born on or before 31 December 2009.
To be eligible for the NEET 2026 Entrance Exam, candidates must have completed and passed the 10+2 examination or its equivalent from a recognized board. They should have studied core subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, along with English from a reputable board. Candidates who are currently enrolled in the 10+2 or equivalent program are also eligible to appear for the exam.
The NEET UG 2026 registration process is currently active, and eligible candidates can submit their application forms through the official NTA NEET portal before the last date mentioned in the notification. While filling out the form, students must provide a valid email ID and mobile number that belongs either to them or to their parents/guardians. All official communication from NTA will be sent to these registered details only, and the agency will not be responsible for any problems caused by incorrect or inactive contact information.

Step 3: Read all instructions carefully before proceeding.
Step 4: Select the appropriate option to continue the registration.
Step 5: Enter the required personal and academic details.

Admission to undergraduate medical and dental courses for the year 2026 will be facilitated through NEET (UG) - 2026. The available seats are categorized in All India Quota Seats, State Government Quota Seats, Seats in Central Institutions/Universities/Deemed Universities, State/Management/NRI Quota Seats in Private Medical/Dental Colleges or any Private University, Central Pool Quota Seats, All seats, including NRI Quota and Management Quota, in private unaided/aided minority/non-minority medical colleges and Seats in AIIMS Institutes across India/JIPMER.
Counselling for admission to seats controlled by State Governments/UT Administrations/State Universities/Institutions will be conducted by designated authorities of the respective State Governments. The NEET (UG) - 2026 results may also be used by other Central and State Government entities, adhering to their eligibility criteria and regulations. During counselling, eligible candidates' criteria, self-declarations, and relevant documents will be verified according to norms specified by respective authorities and/or Medical/Dental Colleges.

Step 3: Enter your Application Number along with your Date of Birth or Password to log in.
Step 4: Once logged in, your admit card will be displayed on your screen for download.

The NEET UG Answer Key 2026 will be released after the examination is conducted successfully. NEET UG Exam Cut-off Marks 2026 will be declared by the NTA along with the result. Candidates must get a rank in the merit list of NEET (UG) - 2026 for admission to Undergraduate Medical Courses. If two or more candidates achieve equal marks or percentile scores in the NEET (UG) - 2026, the inter-se-merit will be determined according to the following criteria:
a. The candidate with higher marks in Biology (Botany & Zoology) in the Test will be ranked higher, followed by,
b. If still tied, the candidate with higher marks in Chemistry in the Test will be ranked higher, followed by,
c. If the tie persists, the candidate with higher marks in Physics in the Test will be ranked higher, followed by,
d. If necessary, a draw of lots will be conducted using computer or IT methods without any human intervention.
