NEET UG Exam Notification 2024 was issued by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on 9 February 2024 for National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG 2024. NEET UG Exam 2024  

The National Testing Agency (NTA) administers the NEET (UG), a standardized entrance test for undergraduate medical education. It serves as the common admission criteria for various medical disciplines including BAMS, BUMS, and BSMS courses within the Indian System of Medicine, across all medical institutions governed by this regulation. Additionally, NEET (UG) is mandatory for BHMS course admission under the National Commission for Homeopathy. Since 2020, NEET (UG) has also become the qualifying exam for MBBS/BDS courses in AIIMS and JIPMER.

NEET UG Eligibility Criteria 2024 

NEET UG Eligibility Criteria 2024 has been detailed through the NEET UG Notification PDF. Candidates should check the eligibility criteria first before they want to apply for the exam. Nationality

The NEET (UG) 2024 examination is open to Indian nationals, Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs), and foreign nationals.

Age Limit & Relaxation

For NEET UG 2024, candidates must have attained 17 years of age at the time of admission or will reach this age on or before 31 December 2024 to the admission in the first year of the Undergraduate Medical Course. There is no upper age limit.

Educational Qualification

To be eligible for the NEET 2024 Entrance Exam, candidates must have completed and passed the 10+2 examination or its equivalent from a recognized board. They should have studied core subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, along with English from a reputable board. Candidates who are currently enrolled in the 10+2 or equivalent program are also eligible to appear for the exam.

NEET UG Application Process

To apply for the upcoming NEET 2024 examination, candidates can follow these steps on the official website of the National Testing Agency:

1. Start by visiting the National Testing Agency’s website.
2. Now find and select the “New Registration” tab on the homepage.
3. Carefully read all the instructions provided.
4. Proceed by clicking on the relevant option.
5. Fill in all required details on the registration form and submit it.
6. Make a note of your application number.
7. Access your account by logging in using your application number and password.
8. Provide the necessary information as prompted.
9. Upload the documents and photographs in the specified format.
10. Choose the preferred mode of payment to pay the application fees.
11. Download and print the NEET 2024 Application form for future reference.

Application Fees 

To finalize the NEET UG application process, candidates are required to pay the application fee, inclusive of processing charges and Goods and Services Tax (GST), where applicable. NEET UG 2024 Admission Process

Admission to undergraduate medical and dental courses for the year 2024 will be facilitated through NEET (UG) - 2024. The available seats are categorized in All India Quota Seats, State Government Quota Seats, Seats in Central Institutions/Universities/Deemed Universities, State/Management/NRI Quota Seats in Private Medical/Dental Colleges or any Private University, Central Pool Quota Seats, All seats, including NRI Quota and Management Quota, in private unaided/aided minority/non-minority medical colleges and Seats in AIIMS Institutes across India/JIPMER.

Counselling for admission to seats controlled by State Governments/UT Administrations/State Universities/Institutions will be conducted by designated authorities of the respective State Governments. The NEET (UG) - 2024 results may also be used by other Central and State Government entities, adhering to their eligibility criteria and regulations. During counselling, eligible candidates' criteria, self-declarations, and relevant documents will be verified according to norms specified by respective authorities and/or Medical/Dental Colleges.

NEET UG Exam Pattern

Candidates who are going to appear in NEET UG 2024 should acquaint themselves with the Exam pattern as it's essential for thorough preparation. Recently revised by NTA, the NEET UG Exam Pattern 2024 provides crucial details regarding exam mode, duration, types of questions, and marking scheme. We elaborate on the NEET UG Exam Pattern in detail for your reference below:

• The test pattern comprises four subjects.
• Each subject is segmented into two sections: Section A and Section B.
• Section A consists of 35 questions.
• Section B consists of 15 questions, out of which candidates can choose to attempt any 10 questions.
• The total number of questions and time utilization remains the same.
• Both Section A and Section B contain multiple-choice questions (MCQs).
• For each correct answer, 4 marks are rewarded and 1 mark will be deducted for wrong answers as negative marking.

NEET UG 2024 Admit Card

The NEET UG 2024 Admit Card will be released by the NTA either in the last week of April or the first week of May 2024. Candidates are required to download the Admit Card from the NTA website and attend the Examination at the designated Centre on the specified Date and Time mentioned in their Admit Card.

It is crucial to note that no candidate will be permitted to appear at the Examination Centre on any Date or Time other than what is allotted to them in their Admit Card. NEET UG Answer Key 2024

NEET UG Answer Key 2024 will be uploaded by the NTA, once the exam is successfully conducted. Following the examination, NTA will also publish the scanned images of OMR Answer Sheets and machine-recorded responses of all candidates on the official website. 

Candidates will be able to challenge the Provisional Answer Key by submitting their objections online. A non-refundable processing fee of ₹200/- per answer challenged will be applicable. This challenge window will be open for a specified period, as indicated in the Public Notice issued by NTA. NEET UG Result 2024 

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will assess Answer Sheets using standardized procedures. Subsequently, the NEET UG Result will be published on the official website. Candidates will also be able to download their respective Score Cards. The NTA will compile the Merit List/All India Rank (AIR) following the Qualifying Criteria and other relevant regulations/guidelines stipulated by various authorities such as NMC/DGHS/MCC and Ministry of AYUSH/NCISM/CCIM/NCH/CCH/AACCC.

NEET UG 2024 Exam Cut-off 

NEET UG Exam Cut-off Marks 2024 will be declared by the NTA along with the result. Candidates must get a rank in the merit list of NEET (UG) - 2024 for admission to Undergraduate Medical Courses. If two or more candidates achieve equal marks or percentile scores in the NEET (UG) - 2024, the inter-se-merit will be determined according to the following criteria:

a. The candidate with higher marks in Biology (Botany & Zoology) in the Test will be ranked higher, followed by,

b. If still tied, the candidate with higher marks in Chemistry in the Test will be ranked higher, followed by,

c. If the tie persists, the candidate with higher marks in Physics in the Test will be ranked higher, followed by,

d. If necessary, a draw of lots will be conducted using computer or IT methods without any human intervention.
