CUET UG Notification 2024 Released: Apply By 26 March 2024

CUET UG Notification 2024 has been issued by the National Testing Agency on 27 February 2024. Common University Entrance Test (CUET (UG) – 2024) will take place in 13 mediums throughout India, facilitating admission to Undergraduate Programs in a Hybrid mode (Pen & Paper / CBT) across all Central Universities (CUs) and participating universities for the academic year 2024-25. What Is CUET UG?

The Common University Entrance Test (CUET) serves as a unified platform, ensuring equal opportunities for candidates nationwide. This singular examination facilitates admissions into a diverse range of institutions, including Central, State, Deemed, and private universities. Formerly recognized as the Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET), this all-India examination is administered by the National Testing Agency. It encompasses admissions to doctorate, postgraduate, undergraduate, integrated postgraduate, diploma, certification courses, and research programs offered by 45 Central Universities in India.

CUET UG Eligibility Criteria 2024

Age Limit 

There is no age limit for candidates appearing in the CUET (UG) - 2024. Those who have completed the class 12 or equivalent examination or are currently in the process of appearing for the 2024 exam, regardless of their age, are eligible to participate. However, candidates must meet the age criteria specified by the respective University, Institution, or Organization for admission purposes.

Educational Qualification

Eligible candidates for CUET must have completed their Class 12th or an equivalent examination. The educational qualification for CUET UG 2024 include:

• Successful completion of the 10+2 system from recognized Central/ State Boards (e.g., CBSE, CISCE).
• Completion of the two-year Pre-University examination or Intermediate from a recognized Board/University.
• Successful completion of the final examination of the two-year course at the Joint Services Wing of the National Defence Academy.
• Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling, including a minimum of five subjects.
• Recognition of any Public School/ Board/ University examination in India or abroad as equivalent to the 10+2 system by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
• Higher Secondary Certificate Vocational Examination.
• AICTE-recognized Diploma or a State board technical education diploma of at least 3 years duration.
• Completion of the GCE examination at the Advanced (A) level from London, Cambridge, or Sri Lanka.
• Successful attainment of the High School Certificate Examination from Cambridge University or the International Baccalaureate Diploma.
• Candidates completing the Class 12 (or equivalent) examination outside India or from an unspecified Board should provide an AIU certificate confirming equivalence.
• If the Class 12 Examination is not public, the candidate must have passed at least one public (Board or Pre-University) examination earlier.

CUET UG Application Process

To register for the Central Universities Entrance Test (CUET) 2024, candidates are required to complete the following steps:

1. Visit the official CUET website for the CUET Registration Form 2024.
2. Click on the 'Apply Online' tab to initiate the registration process.
3. Upon clicking, candidates will encounter three program options: UG, PG, and RP. Choose the desired program link for the application.
4. Complete the registration by providing essential details such as the program applied for, name, valid email ID, mobile number, date of birth, and the verification code displayed.
5. After submission, an application number and password will be generated and sent to the registered email address and mobile number.
6. Log in using the application number and password to access and fill out the application form, including personal details, academic qualifications, and contact details.
7. Upload scanned images of a recent passport-sized photograph and signature, adhering to the prescribed format and dimensions.
8. Select examination centres in order of preference and enter the details accordingly.
9. Upon successful submission of the online application and payment of fees, an email and SMS will be sent to the registered email ID and mobile number.

Application Fees 

To complete the registration process, candidates are required to submit the registration fees for CUET (UG) – 2024. The fees are determined by the number of subjects chosen by the candidates. The fee structure applicable for CUET (UG) - 2024 is as follows:

CUET UG 2024 Admission Process

Participating in CUET (UG) - 2024 does not guarantee admission to the desired University. Admission is contingent upon meeting specific criteria, including eligibility, merit list ranking, medical fitness, verification of original documents, and other criteria set by the University.

Admissions are managed independently by each Central University (CU) for their respective programs. 

Following the announcement of the CUET (UG) - 2024 results by NTA, individual CUs will release counseling/admission schedules and merit lists based on CUET scores and other university-specific criteria. For all inquiries and procedures related to admissions, candidates are advised to check the website of the relevant University to which they have applied.

CUET UG Exam Pattern

Before candidates apply for CUET UG 2024, they should check the pattern of the CUET UG Test 2024. Refer to the table for the revised CUET UG Exam Pattern 2024 below:-

1. The CUET UG 2024 Test follows an objective type format with Multiple Choice Questions. 
2. It is conducted in Hybrid Mode, allowing candidates to choose between a Computer-Based Test or Pen & Paper. 
3. Correct answers or the most suitable responses will be awarded five marks each (+5). However, for every incorrectly marked option, one mark will be deducted (-1).
4. The medium of the exam includes 13 languages: Assamese, Gujarati, Bengali, Hindi, Marathi, Kannada, Malayalam, English, Punjabi, Tamil, Odia, Telugu, and Urdu.
5. In all subjects, including languages, candidates are required to attempt 40 out of 50 questions. 
6. The test duration is 45 minutes, except for specific subjects such as Accountancy, Economics, Physics, Computer Science/Informatics Practices, Chemistry, Mathematics/Applied Mathematics, and General Test, where the duration is extended to 60 minutes.

CUET UG Exam Syllabus 2024

CUET UG Universities 2024

In the academic session 2024-25, a total of 24 universities will be participating in CUET. The following is the list of colleges and universities that accept CUET 2024 scores for admission to UG programs:-

CUET UG 2024 Admit Card

CUET UG e-Admit Card 2024 will be provisionally issued to candidates through the NTA website, pending the fulfillment of eligibility conditions and the successful payment of the prescribed application fee to NTA. Candidates are required to download the Admit Card from the NTA website and appear at the designated examination centre on the specified date and shift/timing mentioned in the e-Admit Card. 

It is essential to note that candidates will not be permitted to participate in the examination at a different date, shift, or time than the one allocated in their Admit Card. Once the CUET UG Admit Card is issued by the NTA, we will provide the direct link for your reference below:-

CUET UG Answer Key 2024

The NTA will release the CUET UG Provisional Answer Key on the website after the completion of the examination. This provision aims to allow candidates the opportunity to challenge the Provisional Answer Keys by making a non-refundable online payment of ₹200/- per question as processing charges. The Provisional Answer Keys will likely be available for scrutiny for a period of two to three days.

Subject experts will thoroughly examine all received challenges, and subsequently, a Final Answer Key will be displayed and declared. The result will be compiled based on this final answer key. It is important to note that no grievances regarding answer keys will be entertained after the declaration of the CUET (UG) - 2024 result/NTA Score.

CUET UG Result 2024 

The CUET (UG) - 2024 result will be processed based on the Final Answer Keys. Any grievances related to the Answer Key(s) after the result declaration will not be entertained.

Marks obtained by a candidate will be considered for the computation of the CUET (UG) - 2024 result. There will be no provision for re-evaluation or re-checking of the result, and no correspondence in this regard will be entertained. Candidates are advised to download their Score Cards for CUET (UG) - 2024 from the website as no physical Score Cards will be dispatched to the candidates.

CUET Cut-off Marks For UG 2024

Following the successful conduct of the CUET 2024 exam, the CUET cut-off will be disclosed, coinciding with the release of the entrance examination scorecards. Only candidates surpassing the cut-off marks will receive invitations for participation in online/offline CUET counseling, administered by the relevant authority. The determination of the CUET 2024 cut-off will factor in considerations such as the number of applicants, exam difficulty levels, previous year's cut-off marks, and the availability of seats. It is important to note that the CUET 2024 cut-off marks may vary based on the specific programs and universities.
