The Delhi Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, has approved the Delhi Industrial Policy 2026 on 14th October, 2026. It is a 10-year roadmap to build a clean, technology-driven and knowledge-based industrial economy in the capital.
The government has set aside Rs 1,000 crore for the policy’s main scheme. The amount will be spent over five years, from 2026-27 to 2030-31, to attract new industries and create jobs.
This scheme receives a Rs 1,000 crore fund. It will support businesses through sector-specific incentives. Women-led enterprises get higher incentive limits, and employers who hire women get extra hiring benefits.
The policy aims to bring in fresh investment, modernise existing industries and create jobs for young people. It focuses on high-value, non-polluting sectors. Delhi is to become a hub for advanced technology, research, data centres and modern manufacturing. The policy also promotes reuse of resources and less waste.
Priority sectors include:
Support covers capital investment, rent, hiring, research, certification, energy saving and skill training.
Eligible units get a 25% incentive on modernisation, capped at Rs 5 crore (Rs 7 crore for women-led firms). Extra help is available for energy efficiency, rooftop solar and apprentice stipends.
IT firms get a 25% incentive on digital infrastructure, up to Rs 10 crore (Rs 12 crore for women-led firms) for three years. Office rent support is 40%, up to Rs 2 crore. Cloud services get 25% help for two years, capped at Rs 10 lakh a year. GCCs can receive up to Rs 50 crore (Rs 60 crore for women-led ones).
New warehouses get 25% assistance up to Rs 10 crore (Rs 12 crore for women-led units). Cold-chain facilities can receive up to Rs 2 crore.
“Invest Delhi” will be the dedicated agency for investors. Working through the Delhi Udyog Mitra Portal, it will help with site selection, approvals, incentive payment and grievances.
Delhi has limited land and serious pollution, so heavy industry is not a good fit. The new policy shifts the focus to clean, knowledge-based, and service-led sectors. It also supports existing industries and opens more job opportunities for the city’s youth.
