Rajasthan is now Home to 50 Districts.

On the recommendation of Ram Lubhaya Committee Rajasthan Government has passed the official notification of 19 new districts and 3 more Divisions/Sambhag (Pali, Sikar, Banswara) in State to make a total of 50 districts and 10 Divisions/Sambhag. The formation of new districts will ease the Administrative reach for the public.

Jaipur and Jodhpur have been divided into two parts. Dudu district will be the smallest and Jaisalmer will be the largest district.

The state government has made a provision of Rs 2000 crore for new districts.

Administrative decentralisation will be assured.

• Looking at the population and geographical conditions of the state, the need for new administrative units was being felt. Due to the large size of the districts, where the collectors have to face administrative problems, the police officers also have trouble in maintaining law and order.

• Formation of new districts will also save the time of villagers coming from far and wide for land-related and civil matters. Along with this, the administrative officers will also find it easier in planning related to development and investment.

Earlier, there were 33 districts in Rajasthan.

Earlier in Rajasthan Sriganganagar, Dhaulpur, Bikaner, Churu, Hanumangarh, Karauli, Sawai Madhopur, Jaisalmer, Pali, Dausa, Jaipur, Sirohi, Jhunjhunu, Sikar, Bundi, Baran, Jhalawar, Kota, Banswara, Chittorgarh, Dungarpur, Rajsamand, Barmer There were 33 districts including Jalore, Bharatpur, Jodhpur, Alwar, Pratapgarh, Ajmer, Bhilwara, Nagaur, Tonk and Udaipur.

19 new districts of Rajasthan

Balotra, Beawar, Anupgarh, Didwana (Kuchaman), Deeg, Dudu, Gangapur City, Jaipur City, Jaipur Rural, Kotputli (Behror), Khairthal, Neemkathana, Phalodi, Salumbar, Sanchore, Jodhpur City, Jodhpur Rural, Kekri, Shahpura Districts.
