World No.3 ranked Indian pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty won the Korea Open Super 500 Badminton 2023 doubles title by defeating the World No.1 Fajr Alfian and Mohd Riyan Ardianto of Indonesia in the final.
The BWF Korea Open Super 500 Badminton 2023 was held at Yeosu, South Korea from 18 July to 23 July 2023.
Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty became the second Indian to win a title at the Korean Open.
Earlier PV Sindhu won the women’s single title in 2017.
This was the third BWF title in 2023 for Satwik and Chirag having already won the Indonesia Super 1000 and Swiss Open Super 500 titles earlier. Satwik and Chirag pair has now won a total 7 BWF titles.

About BWF World Tour
The BWF World Tour is organised every year by the International badminton governing body BWF (Badminton World Federation). World’s top ranked men’s and women's players participate in singles (men’s and women’s) and doubles (men’s, women’s and mixed).
The tournaments are divided into four levels – Super 1000 (four tournaments), Super 750 (six tournaments), Super 500 (nine tournaments) and Super 300 (eleven tournaments). Total 33 tournaments are organised in different parts of the world every year.
Each of these tournaments offers different ranking points and prize money. The highest points and prize pool is offered at the Super 1000 level.
The HSBC BWF World Tour Finals is held in December where top 8 ranked players participate.
