Amul to Build the World’s Largest Curd Production Plant in India

Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Shri Amit Shah will perform the Bhoomi Pujan of the Amul Bengal Dairy Project at the New Town Convention Centre, Kolkata, on 19 July 2026. The event advances PM Modi's "Sahkar Se Samriddhi" vision and White Revolution 2.0.

3. Milk Processing Capacity: 30 lakh (3 million) litres per day

Daily Production Breakdown:

1. Packaged Milk – 10 lakh litres
2. UHT Milk – 2 lakh litres
3. Flavoured Milk – 2.5 lakh packs
4. Ice Cream – 1 lakh litres
5. Paneer – 20 metric tonnes
6. Ghee – 10 metric tonnes
7. Sweets – 10 metric tonnes

Amul Bengal Dairy Project Impact on West Bengal's Dairy Farmers 

Over 1.25 lakh milk-producing farmers, including 30,000+ women producers, will benefit. Amul currently procures around 9 lakh litres of milk daily in the state.

Grain Storage and e-RCS Portal Launch Under Cooperation Ministry

Amit Shah will lay foundation stones for 14 warehouses (1,400 MT capacity, ₹5.98 crore) across 10 districts and inaugurate 2 warehouses (100 MT each) in South 24 Parganas and Cooch Behar. He will also launch the e-RCS portal for digitising the Registrar of Cooperative Societies office, and present certificates to newly registered Dairy and Multipurpose Rural Cooperative Societies.
