The BJP government, led by chief minister Vishnu Deo Sai, organised the Chhattisgarh Rajya Khel Alankaran Samaroh at the Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium, Raipur, on 14 March 2024 after a gap of 5 years. The Khel Alankaran Samaroh was presided over by the former Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh and the current speaker of the Chhattisgarh state legislative assembly, Dr. Raman Singh. The Khel Alankaran Samaroh, which honours and recognises the achievements of the state athletes, was stopped by the previous Congress government, led by Bhupesh Baghel.

Chhattisgarh Rajya Khel Alankaran Samaroh 2024 

The Chhattisgarh Rajya Khel Alankaran Samaroh was started during Dr. Raman Singh's government. The main aim of organising the Rajya Khel Alankaran Samaroh was to honour and recognise the achievements of the state athletes and to encourage a sports culture in the state.

A total of 544 athletes from the state were honoured for their achievements in 2019-20 and 2020-21.

The winners get a cash prize, a standard certificate, a decoration plaque, a blazer and a tie.

Chhattisgarhiya Krida Protsahan Yojana

  • Speaking on the occasion, chief minister Vishnu Deo Sai said that the state government has launched the Chhattisgarhiya Krida Protsahan Yojana to revive and promote traditional sports which are part of the state's cultural heritage.
  • The state government has allocated a budget of Rs 20 crore for the yojana. The government will construct a state-of-the-art sports stadium in Kunkuri, Jashpur district.
  • He also announced that national and international-level residential sports academies will be started in Chhattisgarh.
  • An indoor stadium complex will be built in the Raigarh and Balodabazar districts.

31 Khelo India Center approved for Chhattisgarh 

  • Speaking on occasion, state sports minister Tankram Verma announced that the central government has approved the establishment of 31 Khelo India centres in the state. 
  • The Indian government has also approved the Khelo India Excellence Center for hockey, athletics and archery in the Bilaspur district. 
  • In the Khelo India Centers, the government will annually provide Rs 5 lakh in financial assistance for infrastructure development, sports equipment, and clothing, along with a monthly honorarium of Rs 25,000 to the coach. 

Sports Awards of Chhattisgarh government 

Shaheed Rajeev Pandey Award

The Shaheed Rajiv Pandey Award is given to senior players of the state who have won a medal in the National Championship or National Games or have represented the country in an authorised international competition. The Shaheed Rajiv Pandey Award winner gets a prize of Rs 3 lakh. 

Shaheed Kaushal Yadav Award

State players who have won a junior category national championship medal are given the Shaheed Kaushal Yadav Award. The winner gets a cash prize worth  Rs 1.5 lakh.

Shaheed  Pankaj Vikram Award

Players of Chhattisgarh who have represented the state in the senior national championship for 4 times in the last 5 years are honoured with the Shaheed Pankaj Vikram Samman. A cash prize of Rs 25 thousand is given to Pankaj Vikram Samman, the winner.

Veer Hanuman Singh Award

Distinguished coaches or sports judges of the state are honoured with the Veer Hanuman Singh Award. It has a cash prize of Rs 1.50  lakh.

Shaheed  Vinod Chaubey Award

It is given to former state players who are 55 years of age or older. The player must have participated in an international sports competition, won a medal in a national competition, or done any notable service in the sports field. The winner receives a cash prize of Rs 25 thousand.

Chief Minister’s trophy 

The  Chief Minister's Trophy is awarded to the teams that have won medals in the senior or junior national competition categories. 

The prize money for a team with 4 or fewer players is Rs 2 lakh for the senior category and Rs 1 lakh for the junior category.

The prize money for teams with more than 4 players is given a prize of Rs 5 lakh in the senior category and Rs 3 lakh in the junior category.
