ICAR Hosts 1st-ever ICAR Technology Portfolio for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Conclave 2026

The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and Agrinnovate India Limited (AgIn) jointly organized the "ICAR Technology Portfolio for CSR Conclave 2026" at the NASC Complex, New Delhi, on 16 July 2026. The event brought together ICAR, corporate organizations, industry leaders, and philanthropic institutions to strengthen CSR-driven partnerships for sustainable agricultural development. Over 150 representatives from 75 industries attended in person, with 570 joining online and more than 1,600 viewers following the YouTube webcast.

ICAR CSR Conclave 2026 Key Focuses Around Five Thematic Areas

The conclave showcased ICAR's CSR-ready technologies and scalable interventions around five thematic areas: 

1. Climate-Proofing of Indian Agriculture
2. Soil Health Improvement through Nature-Based Solutions and Crop Diversification
3. Agriculture for Health
4. Agricultural Skilling
5. Women in Agriculture and Agricultural Extension.

As a precursor, four regional roadshows were held at Hyderabad (20 June), Bengaluru (23 June), Mumbai (1 July), and Kolkata (7 July), drawing over 500 stakeholders, including ICAR institutes, corporates, startups, and NGOs, to mobilise CSR partnerships.

Corporate Partners Committing to ICAR Collaboration

Leading organizations pledged CSR and R&D collaboration with ICAR and AgIn, including Agriculture Insurance Company of India Limited, SBI Foundation, UCO Bank, ICICI Foundation, Biovet, FICCI, INFAH, Venkateshwara Hatcheries, Pidilite Industries, and Yes Bank. These partnerships aim to accelerate technology adoption and improve farmer livelihoods nationwide.

ICAR's 98th Foundation Day Celebrated Alongside the Conclave

ICAR marked its 98th Foundation Day on 16 July 2026, at the NASC Complex, New Delhi. The celebrations highlighted the Council's achievements in agricultural research, education, and extension and honored outstanding contributions to Indian agriculture. The occasion reaffirmed ICAR's commitment to science-led, climate-resilient, and farmer-centric agricultural development, aimed at ensuring food and nutritional security, raising farmers' incomes, and advancing the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
