Priya Malik won the second gold medal for India at the ongoing 2023 World U-20 Wrestling Championships being held in Amman, Jordan. She defeated Laura Celine Kuehn of Germany 5-0 in the final of the women's 76 kg category.
Earlier Mohit Kumar won the first gold medal for India in the 2023 edition of the U-20 Wrestling Championships by defeating Russian Eldar Akhmaduninov in the final of the men’s 61 kg freestyle category.
Priya Malik became the second Indian woman to win a gold medal in the U-20 Wrestling Championships. Last year in Sofia, Bulgaria Antim Panghal created history by becoming the first ever Indian women wrestler to win a gold medal at the U-20 Wrestling Championships.
