AIR SUVIDHA 2.0 Portal: About, Features & Significance

The Ministry of Civil Aviation and Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) launched AIR SUVIDHA 2.0 on June 25, 2026, an upgraded contactless passenger health self-declaration portal to strengthen public health surveillance at Indian airports amid the ongoing Ebola outbreak.

About the AIR SUVIDHA 2.0 Portal

AIR SUVIDHA 2.0 is an online health self-declaration portal built jointly by the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), and the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). The portal came into action after the WHO declared the Ebola/Bundibugyo virus disease outbreak in Congo (DRC) and Uganda a global health emergency on May 17, 2026, under IHR 2005 rules. India responded quickly by upgrading its airport health screening system.

Key Features of the AIR SUVIDHA 2.0 Portal

1. All international passengers must fill out a mandatory online Self-Declaration Form (SDF) covering 21-day travel history, exposure risks, and symptoms
2. The form can be submitted up to 24 hours before arrival, ideally during web check-in
3. Fully paperless:  Passengers just show the downloaded PDF or QR code at the airport health desk or immigration counter
4. Real-time data is automatically shared with Airport Health Officers, Bureau of Immigration, State Surveillance Officers, and IDSP

Significance of the AIR SUVIDHA 2.0 Portal

AIR SUVIDHA 2.0 enables fast quarantine, medical referral, and contact tracing before passengers even clear customs. It replaces slow paper-based screening with a smart digital system. It also aligns India's border health measures with WHO's IHR 2005 framework, strengthening India's preparedness for future global health emergencies.
