The Indian para-badminton contingent delivered a dominant performance at the BWF Para World Circuit's Brazil Para Badminton International 2026, held in São Paulo from July 27 to August 1, 2026. India topped the overall medal standings with 22 medals (9 Gold, 6 Silver, and 7 Bronze), edging host nation Brazil (8 Gold). Takar's gold in men's doubles and bronze in men's singles formed part of India's overall dominant showing at the tournament, where the Indian contingent finished with a total of 22 medals, including 9 gold, 6 silver and 7 bronze.

Chief Minister Pema Khandu, in a social media post, highlighted that Takar is a beneficiary of the Chief Minister's Award to Champion Excellence in Sports (CM ACES) programme, saying his international success reflects the growing impact of the scheme in nurturing sporting talent across the state.

India and Brazil emerged as the two most successful teams at the tournament, which concluded in São Paulo on Saturday. India topped the standings with nine gold medals, narrowly ahead of hosts Brazil's eight.

1. Prem Chand Potnuru and Manisha Patel were the standout performers for India, sweeping all three of their respective categories
2. The duo opened finals day by winning the mixed doubles Short Stature (SH6) gold over Germany's Robin Weiler and Julia Schramm in straight games
3. Potnuru then claimed the SH6 men's singles title against compatriot Kuldeep Tanwar
4. Patel won the women's singles SH6 over local favourite Maria Eduarda Souza
5. Potnuru and Tanwar later paired up for the men's doubles gold
6. Patel added a doubles title alongside Peru's Andrea Montoya Castaneda
7. Brazil's Kauana Michelson Beckenkamp (SL3) and Peru's Pilar Jauregui (WH2) each won three golds in their respective categories

2. Ravankole paired with Dheeraj Saini for gold in men's doubles SU5
3. Saini added an individual silver in men's singles SU5
4. Dinesh Rajaiah won bronze in men's doubles SL3-SU5
5. Nithin KT won bronze in men's doubles SH6
6. Uma Sarkar won bronze in mixed doubles SL3-SU5
