Google’s parent company, Alphabet, inaugurated the Google AI Hub in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, on October 14, 2025. Google will invest 15 billion dollars in India over the next five years.

• Prime Minister Modi appreciated the inauguration of the Google AI Hub in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. Google’s parent company, Alphabet, said on October 14, 2025, that it would invest 15 billion dollars in India over the next five years.
• This facility, to be established in the port city of Visakhapatnam, will be part of Google’s global network of AI centers spanning 12 countries.
• Additionally, it announced a massive data center and artificial intelligence base in Andhra Pradesh, which will be its largest AI hub outside the United States.

Google’s Data Center Complex

• The American technology giant will build a 1-gigawatt data center complex in the port city of Visakhapatnam, which will include AI infrastructure, large-scale energy sources, and an expanded fiber-optic network.
• Google has partnered with the Adani Group for the AI data center complex. This is Google’s largest-ever investment in the country. The project is part of the Andhra Pradesh government’s plan to develop 6 gigawatts of data center capacity by 2029.
• Data centers are physical facilities that house computing and networking equipment used by organizations to collect, process, store, and distribute data.
• They contain servers, storage systems, and network equipment such as routers and firewalls, along with the power and cooling systems needed to operate them.
• In Andhra Pradesh, the government is offering subsidized land and electricity to attract global investors.
• Microsoft and Amazon have already invested billions of dollars in building data centers in India, where the number of internet users is expected to exceed 900 million by the end of the year.
• OpenAI chief Sam Altman has said that he will open an office in India later this year.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah laid the foundation stone of NSG’s Special Operations Training Centre in Haryana

• Union Home Minister Amit Shah laid the foundation stone of the NSG’s Special Operations Training Centre in Haryana, which will provide advanced training to combat terrorism. The SOTC was inaugurated at a cost of ₹141 crore and will provide state-of-the-art training to commandos for counter-terrorism operations.
• He said that the National Security Guard will establish a hub in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. The minister stated that six NSG hubs have already been established in Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, and Jammu task forces.
• Since 1984, the NSG has defended the country with bravery and strength during Operation Ashwamedh, Operation Sarvashakti, Operation Dhangu, the Akshardham attack, the Mumbai attacks, and many other national crises.
• A bill for the formation of this organization was introduced in Parliament in August 1986 and received the President’s approval on September 22, 1986, from which day the National Security Guard (NSG) formally came into existence.
• After Operation Blue Star in 1984, the need for a dedicated unit to combat terrorism was realized.

NPCI Tech Solutions Limited (NTSL)

• In Mumbai, the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) announced the establishment of a new subsidiary, NPCI Tech Solutions Limited (NTSL).
• NTSL has become the fourth subsidiary under NPCI and has been tasked with advancing experimentation and pioneering innovations in the fintech sector.
• Previously, NPCI had incorporated NPCI Bhim Services Limited (NBSL), NPCI International Payments Limited (NIPL), and NPCI Bharat BillPay Limited (NBBL).
• Fintech (short for financial technology) refers to the use of technology to deliver financial services and solutions more efficiently, securely, and innovatively.
• NPCI (a non-profit company) is an initiative of the RBI and the Indian Banks’ Association (IBA) under the provisions of the Payment and Settlement Systems Act, 2007.
• Major initiatives of NPCI: RuPay payment system connects all ATMs in India, UPI.
• It also facilitates National Electronic Toll Collection (NETC) through FASTag, IMPS, NACH, and Aadhaar Payment Bridge System, etc.
