In badminton, India's men's doubles pair, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty, have won the final of the Singapore Open tournament.
In the men's doubles final of this BWF Super 750 tournament, the Indian duo defeated the Indonesian pair of Muhammad Shohibul Fikri and Fajar Alfian by a score of 18-21, 21-17, 21-16.
With this victory, the pair ended a two-year title drought.
Earlier, in the semi-final match, the Indian duo defeated the world's number one pair—South Korea's Seo Seung-jae and Kim Won-ho—a pair that had won 34 consecutive matches.
The Asian Games and Commonwealth Games champions staged a remarkable comeback to secure their first World Tour title in two years and the ninth of their career. Additionally, they claimed their third Super 750 title.
This marked Satwik and Chirag's first title on the tour since the 2024 Thailand Open. The Thailand Open had also taken place exactly two years prior, in May.
The Singapore Open victory was India's second BWF World Tour title of the year; prior to this, Devika Sihag had won the women's singles title at the Thailand Masters Super 300.

Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty are India's most successful men's doubles badminton pair, having earned the distinction of becoming the world's number one Indian doubles team in October 2023.
Their illustrious list of historic achievements includes an Asian Games gold medal, a World Tour Super 1000 title, and the prestigious Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award.
They reached the top spot in the BWF World Rankings in October 2023. They became the first Indian badminton players to win a gold medal at the Asian Games (Hangzhou).
They are the first men's doubles pair in the world to have won World Tour titles in every category, ranging from Super 100 to Super 1000.
They played a pivotal role in the Indian men's team's historic Thomas Cup victory in 2022, securing the World Team Championship title for India for the first time in 73 years.
They won a gold medal at the Asian Championships (2023), thereby ending a 58-year medal drought for India in this continental competition.
They secured bronze medals at the 2022 and 2025 World Championships—the first-ever medals for India in the men's doubles category at this tournament.
They won a gold medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games (Birmingham) and a silver medal at the 2018 Games (Gold Coast).
