Shi Yu Qi & An Se-young won All-England Badminton 2025 Singles Title

Shi Yu Qi of China and An Se-young of South Korea respectively won the men’s and women’s singles titles at the All England Open Championships 2025 in Birmingham, England. 

The final of the All England Open Badminton Championship was held in Birmingham, England.

Indian badminton player Lakshya Sen who reached the final of the All England Badminton Championship in 2022 and semi-finals in 2023 lost in the quarter-finals this year to reigning Asian Games champion and world No. 6 Shi Feng Li of the People’s Republic of China.

Second All-England title for Shi Yu Qi  and An Se-young

World no.1 player Shi Yu Qi of China won his second All England Badminton Championship title by defeating Chinese Taipei’s (Taiwan) Lee Chia-Hao in the final 21-17, 21-19.

Shi Yu Qi won the singles title earlier in 2018.

In the women’s section, world no.1 An Se-young of South Korea defeated the Chinese Wang Zhiyi in a three-game final 13-21, 21-18, 21-18 to win her second All-England single’s title.

An Se-young won her first All England Open singles title in 2023.

Chiharu Shida and Nami Matsuyama won their second Women’s  double-title 

The Japanese pair of Chiharu Shida and Nami Matsuyama won their second All-England Open women’s doubles title by defeating fellow Japanese pair of Yuki Fukushima and Mayu Matsumoto 21-16 14-21 21-17.

Chiharu Shida and Nami Matsuyama won their first All-England doubles title in 2022.

Following are the winners of the singles, doubles, and mixed doubles titles at the 2025 All England Badminton Championship.

About All England Badminton Championship 

The All England Open Badminton Championship is the world’s oldest and most prestigious tournament.

It was started in 1899 and the first two editions of the tournament were called the Badminton Association Tournament.

Sir George Thomas of England on whose name Thomas Cup was later instituted is the most successful male player in the history of the All-England Championship. He has won  21 titles (four men’s singles, nine men’s doubles and eight mixed doubles).

Judy Devlin of the United States is the most successful female player with 17 titles (10 women’s singles and seven doubles).

Indonesian great Rudy Hartono holds the record for most All England Open men’s singles titles with eight wins.

Indian winners 

• In 1980, Prakash Padukone won the men’s singles title of the All-England.
• The second Indian to win the singles title was Pullela Gopichand in 2001.
