Plane crashes in Azerbaijan & at Muan International Airport , Korea

In a tragic incident, plane crashes in Azerbaijan and South Korea have led to the death of many passengers on board in the past week. An Azerbaijan Airlines commercial plane crashed in Kazakhstan for which Russian President Vladimir Putin has apologized to the Azerbaijani President.
In the deadliest air crash in South Korea, a Jeju Airline jetliner crashed at the Seoul airport while attempting to land.
In South Korea a Jeju Airlines Boeing 737-800 skidded off the runway at the Muan International Airport, Seoul, and crashed into a wall on 29 December 2024.
179 of the 181 people onboard died in the tragic accident making it the deadliest plane crash on South Korean soil.
The plane was on a flight from Bangkok (Thailand) to the South Korean capital Seoul. Many of the passengers were returning home after celebrating Christmas in Thailand.
The 179 people who died on flight 7C2216 were aged between three and 78 years old and mainly were South Korean nationals.
The acting President of South Korea Choi Sang-Mok has announced a seven-day national mourning in the country.
Russia's President Vladimir Putin has apologised to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev for the crash of an Azerbaijan Airlines jet in which 38 passengers on board were killed.
The Azerbaijani president has said that the ill-fated plane was damaged by ground fire in Russia which led to its crash. He did not blame Russia for intentionally targeting the plane.
Azerbaijan Airlines was on a flight from the Azerbaijan capital of Baku to the Chechen capital of Grozny in Russia on 25 December 2024.
The Azerbaijan Airlines jet crash-landed near Aktau in Kazakhstan, killing 38 of the 67 passengers on board.
According to Russia, when the plane was attempting to land at the Grozny airport in Chechnya, the whole region of Grozny, Mozdok, and Vladikavkaz were under attack from Ukrainian drones.
The Russian air defence system was engaged and it successfully repelled the Ukrainian drone attack.
The Russians do not admit that their air defence system hit the Azerbaijani plane.
It is most likely that the Azerbaijani plane was hit during this period.
Russia and Ukraine have been engaged in war since 24 February 2022 when the Russian troops invaded Ukraine.
