Indian Archery team wins two gold on day 12 of the 19th Asian Games

The Indian men's and women's archery compound team won the gold medal at the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, on 5 October 2023. On day 12 of the Hangzhou Asian Games, Indian athletes won 3 more gold, one silver and one bronze medal. As of 5th October, India has won 86 medals at the Asian Games 2023, 21 gold, 32 silver and 33 bronze.

The 19th edition of the Asian Games officially began on September 23, 2023, and will conclude on October 8, 2023.

Medal Winners for India on Day 12 of the Hangzhou Asian Games 

Gold Medal Winners 

• Dipika Pallikal and Harinder Pal Sandhu won the first-ever mixed doubles gold medal in Squash. It is the first-ever gold medal for India in the Squash mixed doubles event in the Asian Games.
• The Indian pair beat Malaysia's Aifa Azman and Mohd Syafiq Kamal in the final at Hangzhou. It is Dipika Pallikal's first Asian Games gold medal, while Harinder Pal Singh Sandhu won his third medal at the Asian Games. 

• The men's archery compound team of Ojas Pravin Deotale, Abhishek Verma and Prathamesh Jawkar beat the Republic of Korea 235-230 in the final.
• The women's archery compound team of Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Aditi Swami, and Parneet Kaur defeated Chinese Taipei in the final to win the gold medal.

Silver Medal Winners 

• Veteran squash player Saurav Ghosal lost the final against Malaysia's Ng Eain Yow and had to settle for the silver medal. Saurabh Ghosal has now won 10 medals in the Asian Games. He has won three team gold, two singles silver, three singles bronze and two team bronze.

Bronze medal Winners 

• World U-20 World champion Antim Panghal beat Mongolia's Bolortuya Bat-Ochir in the women's freestyle 53 kg wrestling event to win the bronze medal. 

India finished the day 12 with 86 medals- 21 gold, 32 silver and 33 bronze.
