The Indian men’s hockey team defeated Malaysia by 4-3 goals in the final of the 7th Asian Men’s Hockey Champions Trophy to win its record 4th title . The final was played at the Mayor Radhakrishnan Stadium in Chennai on 12th August 2023.
Indian team led by captain Harmanpreet Singh has become the most successful team in the Asian Champions Trophy. Pakistan has won it three times .
Jugraj Singh , Harmanpreet Singh ,Gurjant Singh and Akashdeep Singh scored the goals for India while Abu Kamal Azrai, Razie Rahim , Aminudin Muhamad scored for Malaysia.
Earlier India defeated Japan 5-0 and Malaysia defeated South Korea 6-2 in the semi-final.
The 7th Asian men’s hockey championship 2023 was held in Chennai from 5-12 August 2023.
The mascot of the 7th Asian Champions Trophy 2023 hockey tournament for men’s was Bomman. Bomman is an Asian Elephant.
Six countries -India, South Korea,China, Malaysia,Japan and Pakistan participated in the 7th Asian Champions Trophy.
