India dominates 2025 Asia Para Badminton Championship with 27 medals Sport 4 min read

The Indian Para shuttlers dominated the Asia Para Badminton Championship 2025, winning 27 medals. This was their best performance in the Asian Championship, bettering their record of 13 medals in the 2016 edition held in Beijing, China.

The 2025 Asia Para Badminton Championship, organised by the Badminton World Federation (BWF), was held in Thailand from 17 to 22 June 2025. 

 In Para Badminton, players are classified into six sport classes depending on their disability. The six sporting classes are Wheel Chair (WH)1, Wheel Chair (WH) 2, Standing Lower (SL) 3,  Standing Lower (SL) 4,  Standing Upper (SU) 5 and  Standing Upper (SU) 6.

Medal Winners of India 

The Indian shuttlers won 27 medals - four gold, 10 silver and 13 bronze medals.

Nitesh Kumar won three gold medals in the Men’s Singles SL3, the Mixed Doubles SL3-SU5 (with M. Thulasimathi) and Men’s Doubles SL3-SL4 (with Sukant Kadam).
