Rebranded Twitter ‘X’ domain temporarily banned by Indonesia

The Indonesian government has temporarily banned Elon Musk owned social media giant Twitter’s new X.com domain under the provision of its gambling and porn laws. According to the Indonesian government the site has been temporarily banned as the domain had been previously used by sites that did not adhere to the country's strict laws against pornography and gambling.

A domain is the address of a specific website. It’s the unique name that appears after the @ sign in email addresses, and after www. in web addresses. It is typed into a web browser like google to access a specific website.

In July 2023, Elon Musk announced the rebranding of Twitter and replaced its iconic blue bird logo to X. The company intends to gradually replace the Twitter name with X.
