India wins historic Equestrian dressage team gold at Asian Games

India wins historic Equestrian dressage team gold at Asian Games Sport 2 min read

On day three of the 19th Hangzhou Asian Games 2023 India won a historic gold medal in  the equestrian dressage team event on 26 September 2023. The Indian team of Hriday Chheda, Anush Agarwalla, Divyakriti Singh and Sudipti Hajela won gold for India after 41 years by defeating China.

India finished day three with one gold ,one silver and one bronze medal. 

17 year old Neha Thakur won the silver medal girl's dinghy - ILCA4 event. 

Eabad Ali followed with a bronze in the men's windsurfer - RS:X event.

The first gold medal for India in the 19th Asian games was won by the  Men's 10m Air Rifle shooting team of Divyansh Panwar, Rudrankksh Patil and Aishwary Pratap. 

Important Points

The second gold came from the Indian women's cricket team .

At the end of day three India’s medal tally was 14 with  3 gold, 4 silver medals and 7 bronze medals.

China continues to lead the medal tally with 85 medals with 47 gold, 25 silver and 13 bronze medals.

In second place is South Korea with 44 medals-13 gold ,13 silver and 18 bronze.

India is currently at the 6th place with 14 medals. 

The 19th Asian Games officially started on 23rd September 2023 and will end on 8th October 2023.
