(a) Nationality

To be eligible to apply for the UPSSSC Stenographer Recruitment Exam, candidates must be a citizen of India. 

(b) Age Limit & Relaxation

The minimum and maximum age of a candidate for UPSSSC Stenographer Recruitment 2024 is mentioned below:

• Minimum Age: 18 years
• Maximum Age: 40 years

Candidates belonging to the reserved categories, as notified by the government of Uttar Pradesh from time to time, are eligible for upper age relaxation.

(c) Educational Qualification

Candidates must meet the following educational standards to be eligible for the UPSSSC Stenographer Recruitment Exam 2024:

• Passed 12^th grade from a recognized board.
• Cleared UPSSSC PET 2022 with a valid scorecard
• Hindi shorthand (Steno): 80 wpm
• Typing speed in Hindi: 25 wpm
• Must have passed CCC course conducted by DOEACC Society 

OR

An equivalent computer course recognized by the government as equivalent to that offered by the Uttar Pradesh Board of Secondary Education is required.

Preferential Qualification

During the recruitment process, preference will be given to the following candidates:

• Should have served in the Territorial Army for a minimum period of 2 years

OR

• Should have obtained a ‘B’ certificate of National Cadets Corps (NCC)

UPSSSC Stenographer Application Process

The online application process for UPSSSC Stenographer Recruitment 2024 began on 26 December 2024 and will close on 25 January 2025. Eligible and interested candidates can apply online either through the direct link provided above or by visiting the official UPSSSC website. Follow the steps below to submit the UPSSSC Stenographer Application Form:

1. Go directly to the official UPSSSC website.
2. On the homepage, click on the "Applicant's Dashboard Tab (Login through PET Registration Number)" link under the Applicants section.
3. Log in by verifying your personal details or using the OTP sent to your registered mobile number.
4. Once logged in, you will see a pre-filled application form based on the details provided during your UPSSSC PET 2023 registration.
5. Verify the details, upload a scanned copy of your photo and signature, and pay the application fee.
6. Tick the declaration checkbox and submit the application.
7. Save the submitted form and print a copy for your records.

Application Fees 

Only the processing fee will be charged to candidates applying for the UP Stenographer Exam 2024. If candidates clear the required cut-off (based on the marks scored in UPSSSC PET 2023) as decided by the commission, they will be required to pay the main examination fee. Note: Before downloading the admit card for the main examination, the candidate must pay the examination fee separately if they are shortlisted for the main examination. The fee for the main examination will be decided by the commission or the government of Uttar Pradesh.

Written Exam Pattern

The UPSSSC Stenographer written exam evaluates candidates' proficiency across various subjects to ensure they possess the necessary skills. Familiarity with the exam pattern is crucial for efficient preparation.

• The exam will consist of 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), carrying a total of 100 marks.
• UPSSSC Stenographer written exam will be conducted bilingually. 
• Candidates will get 120 minutes to complete the UP Steno exam.
• 1/4 marks will be deducted in Stenographer exam for each incorrect answer.

Hindi Shorthand & Typing Test

Candidates who pass the written exam will be shortlisted for the typing test. The Typing Test will be qualifying in nature. The following are the expected shorthand and typing test criteria:

• Hindi Shorthand test: 80 words per minute
• Hindi Typing test: 25 words per minute

The UPSSSC Stenographer Admit Cards will be made available by the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission 7 to 10 days prior to the written examination.
