Indian Coast Guard Navik Eligibility Criteria 2024

Candidates should ensure that they meet all the eligibility criteria set by ICG for the position of Navik, including age limits, and education requirements and fulfill the nationality conditions. Check carefully, if you meet all of the requirements listed below:

(a) Nationality

Only Male Indian Citizens are eligible to apply for ICG Navik GD post.

(b) Age Limit & Relaxation

Candidates for the post of Navik in ICG must be over the age of 18 and under the age of 22 years. Candidates should have been born between  01 Sep 2002 to 31 Aug 2006(both dates inclusive). The following are the details of upper-age relaxations applicable to candidates belonging to various categories:

(c) Educational Qualification

Candidates applying for the Navik post in the General Duty branch in ICG must have Passed 10+2 with Maths and Physics from a school recognised by the Council of Boards for School Education (COBSE).

Note: When filling out the online application, candidates must enter the marks of all subjects as they appear on their marksheet. Incorrect or incomplete marks in the online application will result in the cancellation of candidature.

Application Online for Indian Coast Guard Navik (GD) 2024

The Indian Coast Guard will begin accepting online applications for the Navik (GD) on 13 February 2024. For the online application, candidates must visit the ICG's official website. All eligible applicants who wish to serve in the Indian Coast Guard may apply online using the direct link provided above. Simply follow the steps given below to easily submit your Navik (GD) online application form.

Step 1: Go to the Indian Coast Guard's official website.

Step 2: On the homepage, click on the “Enrolled Personnel (CGEPT‑02/2024)” tab to Sign In.

Step 3: Enter your Email ID and Password to "Sign in" to the ICG portal.

Step 4: A new page will load, where you have to click on the "New Registration" link.

Step 5: Register successfully using the correct information.

Step 6: Log in with your valid credentials, complete the application form, and click the "Save & Preview" button.

Step 7: Upload the photograph, signature, and documents in the specified format.

Step 8: If you are not exempted, pay the examination fees.

Step 9: Download and print the final ICG Navik GD application form 2024 for future reference.

Important:

During the registration process, the candidate must also upload their recent photograph. Additionally, a live image of the candidate will be captured during the registration process. The facial features of the candidate in the uploaded photo will be matched to the real-time photo. Only if the photo matches,  the candidate will be able to submit his application.

Candidates can pay their exam fees online via net banking or with a Visa/Master/Maestro/Rupay Credit/Debit Card/UPI. Indian Coast Guard Navik GD 2024 - Selection Process 

The selection of a candidate under the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) Recruitment 2024 for Navik GD post is based on an all India order of merit based on their performance in Stage-I, II, III & IV and fulfilling the required medical standards during medical examination and the number of vacancies available for the post. Check brief information on all stages of the ICG Navik GD Recruitment below:

Stage-I: Written Test

The written examination will be conducted online and will be objective in nature, with multiple-choice questions. Candidates who pass the written exam will be eligible for the physical fitness test (PFT). Before the written examination, there will be a document verification process; candidates who fail to submit the required documents will be denied the opportunity to take the written examination.

The online written exam is divided into two sections. Section one will be worth 60 marks, while section two will be worth 50 marks. 

Stage-II

Stage-II involves the Assessment/Adaptability Test which is only qualifying in nature i.e. either ‘Provisionally Pass’ or ‘Fail’.

  • Under the Assessment test, candidates will be first evaluated using an OMR-based test, the result of this assessment will be announced after one hour. The qualified candidates will proceed to the next stage, i.e. Physical Fitness Test.
  • Physical Fitness Test (PFT) will consist of a race, squats, and push-ups.
  • Document Verification: All the documents provided by the candidates during the online application will be verified with the originals. All documents must be issued on or before the application's closing date. The validity of all uploaded documents must be at least until 31 August 2024.
  • Initial Medical Examination: At this step, a Provisional Medical Exam will be performed to determine whether the candidate is qualified for the post.Candidates who have been declared permanently or temporarily unfit have the right to appeal against  the results of their initial medical examination. Following completion of the initial medicals, the appellant medical must be performed "within 21 days if permanently unfit" or "within 42 days if temporarily unfit." Medical examination of the shortlisted candidates will be conducted by authorized Military Doctors in accordance with the medical standards prescribed by current regulations applicable to the EP of the Indian Coast Guard upon entry. 

Stage-III

At this point, all of the candidate's documentation will be reviewed again. Any mismatch/inconsistency/error with the information provided by the candidate in the application form, uploaded documents, and original documents produced for verification at Stage-II that relates to the candidate's eligibility, identity, or authenticity of documents will result in document verification failure and the candidature will be canceled. A final medical test to confirm fitness will be performed at INS Chilka.

Stage-IV

All original documents of finally shortlisted candidates will be verified for the last time.

The Indian Coast Guard Navik (General Duty) computer-based written exam will consist of objective-type questions. Physical Fitness Test (PFT):

All candidates who pass the written test will be shortlisted for the Physical Fitness Test. All three below-mentioned PFT tests must be performed in sequence, with no breaks. Any deviation from the three tests will fail the PFT. The following are the parameters for the Physical Fitness Test:

  • Running - 1.6 km in 7 minutes
  • Twenty squat-ups (Uthak Baithak)
  • Ten push-ups

All candidates are advised to bring their own sports equipment (shoes, t-shirts, trousers, etc.) for PFT.

Indian Coast Guard Navik (GD) Admit Card 2024

The ICG Navik GD Admit Card 2024 will be available for download on the Indian Coast Guard's official website. Candidates taking the Navik GD examination can download their admit cards one week before the exam from the official website. The ICG normally releases the ICG Navik results on its official website 45 days after the commencement of each stage exam. Each stage's result will be announced separately by the recruitment organisation, and qualifying candidates from each level will be shortlisted for the next round. 

Candidates will be able to check the result only through the Candidate’s login to the official website of the ICG.

Indian Coast Guard Navik GD/DB Cut-off Marks 2023

The cut-off marks for the Indian Coast Guard Navik are released soon after each part of the examination is successfully completed. Indian Coast Guard Navik GD Salary 2024

The basic pay for personnel enrolled in the Indian Coast Guard as Navik (GD)  will be Rs. 21700/- (Pay Level 3). In addition to their salaries, Navik at ICG will be eligible for Dearness Allowance and other allowances based on the nature of their duties/place of assignment, as per applicable regulations.

ICG Navik GD Training and Career Progression

The basic training for Navik (General Duty) will take place at INS Chilka, followed by sea training and professional training (6 months to 2 years) in the assigned trade. Branch/trade assignments will be made based on the cadet's performance and service requirements during basic training. The Navik (General Duty) cadet at ICG will undergo a 16-week training period.
