Age Limit & Relaxation

Educational Qualification

The educational qualifications needed for the DSSSB Welfare Officer, Probation Officer, and Prison Welfare Officer post are:

• Master's Degree in Social Work

OR

• Master's of Art in Sociology

OR

• Applicants are required to possess a Post Graduate Degree in Criminology from a recognized University or Institute.

Additionally, it's desirable for candidates to have passed Hindi as a subject at the Secondary level.

Experience

Experience isn't mandatory for applying to this post, but it's desirable to have at least one year of practical experience in the field of Social Work within any Government Department or Recognized Voluntary Organization in a regular paid capacity.

DSSSB WO PO PWO 2023 Selection Process

DSSSB is conducting One Tier Examination (Tier-I) for the positions of Welfare Officer, Probation Officer, and Prison Welfare Officer. Candidate scores in the Computer Based Examination will be normalized if necessary. To ensure high-quality selection and recruit top talent, the Board has set the following minimum qualifying marks for different categories:

• General/EWS: 40%
• OBC (Delhi): 35%
• SC/ST/PH (PwD): 30%
• Ex-servicemen will receive a 5% relaxation in their respective categories, with a minimum requirement of 30%.

Final selection and Department allocation to qualified candidates will depend on their performance in the Tier-I Examination, the preferences for Posts/Departments indicated during the online submission of e-dossier, and their eligibility based on the Recruitment Rules (RRs).

DSSSB WO PO PWO Exam Pattern

Before appearing for the examination, candidates must be aware of the DSSSB Exam Pattern. Here we are providing a detailed exam pattern of DSSSB WO, PO, PWO Posts:-

1. The examination will feature bilingual questions (in Hindi & English), except for Language papers which will be exclusively in the concerned language. 
2. The exam will consist of two sections: Section 1 will carry 100 marks, while Section 2 will carry 200 marks. 
3. It will be a Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) format and will last for 3 hours, encompassing 300 questions worth a total of 300 marks.
