CSIR NET 2024 June Notification (Out): Check Eligibility Criteria

CSIR UGC NET 2024 Notification has been issued by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research on 1 May 2024. CSIR-UGC NET 2024 is scheduled to be conducted on 25, 26 & 27 June 2024 in Computer Based mode. CSIR UGC NET 2024 Application window is open for the CSIR UGC NET 2024. Interested and eligible candidates can apply for the same by visiting the official website of the CSIR NET from 1 to 27 May 2024. 

Candidates can only apply for the Joint CSIR-UGC NET June 2024 through the "Online" mode.

CSIR NET June Exam 2024  

The Joint CSIR-UGC NET is a national examination designed to determine the eligibility of Indian nationals for various academic and research opportunities. Successful candidates may qualify for the Junior Research Fellowship, become eligible for appointment as Assistant Professors, or gain admission to Ph.D. programs. The test is specifically for bona fide Indian citizens.

Fellowships awarded through the Joint CSIR-UGC NET can be used at numerous academic and research institutions across India, including universities, IITs, postgraduate colleges, government research establishments, and R&D divisions of recognized public or private sector industrial firms. These fellowships aim to support research under the supervision of qualified faculty members or scientists within university departments, national laboratories, and other accredited institutions in a wide range of scientific and interdisciplinary research areas.

Nationality

The test is open only to bona fide Indian Citizens. Joint CSIR-UGC NET Fellowships are valid only within India.

Educational Qualification

Educational qualifications for CSIR UGC NET 2024 June are detailed below:-

• General/Unreserved/General-EWS candidates must have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in a Master’s Degree or equivalent examination from recognized universities/institutions.
• Candidates from Other Backward Classes belonging to Non-Creamy Layer/Scheduled Tribe/Scheduled Caste/Persons with Disability/Third gender categories should have scored at least 50% marks in their Master’s degree  (without rounding off) or equivalent examination from recognized universities/institutions.
• Candidates pursuing their Master’s degree or equivalent course are eligible to apply.
• Candidates who have appeared for their qualifying Master’s degree (final year) examination and await results are eligible.
• Candidates who have experienced delays in their qualifying examinations may also apply for the test.

CSIR NET Application Process

CSIR NET Application 2024 can be submitted by eligible candidates in the stipulated time frame. Candidates can follow the steps provided below to apply for the CSIR UGC NET 2024:-

Step 1: Start by visiting the CSIR NET website.

Step 2: Once on the website, locate and click on the link titled "Joint CSIR-UGC NET JUNE-2024: Click here to Registration/Login" under the Latest News section.

Step 3: Click on New Registration to complete the registration process and login with the provided login credentials.

Step 4: Fill in all required details such as Application Number, Password, and Security PIN, then proceed by clicking the login button. Choose your preferred Exam Centre and language medium for UGC NET 2024.

Step 5: Provide your Aadhar card number, gender, category, Employment status, and Qualifying Exam status.

Step 6: Enter your Educational Details, including your most recent qualification, percentage, etc.

Step 7: Input your communication address, phone number, and email ID.

Step 8: Upload your photo and signature, and proceed to the payment page to complete the payment, which can be done via online or offline modes.

Step 9: Click on the “SUBMIT” button and download the confirmation page for future reference.

Application Fees 

CSIR UGC NET 2024 Application Fee can be submitted online till 27 May 2024. An applicant can pay through net banking/debit/credit card/UPI. Service charges from the respective Bank/Payment Gateway Integrator may apply. Check the below table for category-wise application fees:-

CSIR NET 2024 Selection Process

The Joint CSIR-UGC NET Fellowship is awarded for a fixed tenure and does not guarantee subsequent employment by CSIR-UGC NET. Candidates qualifying under the 'appointment as Assistant Professor and admission to Ph.D.' category will be eligible for appointment as Assistant Professor and admission to Ph.D., but not for the JRF award. Candidates qualifying under the 'admission to Ph.D. only' category will be eligible for Ph.D. admission only, without eligibility for the JRF award or appointment as Assistant Professor.

CSIR NET Exam Pattern

Before candidates are going to appear in the UGC NET 2024, they should be familiar with the examination pattern of CSIR NET 2024. Being familiar with the exam scheme should be the first step of the candidates in the direction of preparation. In this section we are going to elaborate CSIR UGC NET 2024 Exam Pattern:-

1. The exams will take place in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode. 
2. The test will consist of three parts, all of which will include objective-type multiple-choice questions. 
3. There will be no break between papers. 
4. The paper will be available in bilingual format, offering questions in both Hindi and English.

CSIR NET 2024 Admit Card

Admit Cards for the candidates will be provisionally issued, contingent upon meeting the eligibility criteria as outlined in the CSIR NET Notification. Candidates must download their Admit Cards from the NTA website and attend the examination at the specified centre, on the date and time indicated on their Admit Card. No candidate will be permitted to take the exam at any centre, date, or time other than those assigned in their Admit Card.

CSIR NET Answer Key 2024

The NTA will display the CSIR UGC NET 2024 Provisional Answer Key on its website, allowing candidates to review and challenge it. The Answer Keys are expected to be available for two to three days. Candidates wishing to contest the Provisional Answer Key can do so online by paying a non-refundable processing fee of Rs. 200 per question.

The NTA's decisions regarding the challenges will be final, and the results will be determined based on the final answer keys. Once the NET June 2024 Answer Key is posted by the NTA, we will provide a direct link for you to download it:-

CSIR NET Result 2024 

CSIR NET Result 2024 will be declared by the NTA, once the exam takes place successfully. Those who will appear in the exam should regularly visit the official website of CSIR NET to check updates regarding the results after the exam. CSIR NET 2024 Exam Cut-off 

The NTA will announce the CSIR UGC NET cut-off marks along with the exam results. There will be no individual cut-offs for Parts A, B, and C; instead, the total marks from all sections will be considered for creating the merit list. The minimum qualifying marks are set at 33% for candidates from the General, EWS, and OBC categories and 25% for those from the SC/ST and PwD categories, applicable to both the fellowship and Assistant Professor positions.

CSIR NET 2024 Salary

A Junior Research Fellow (JRF) selected through the CSIR-National Eligibility Test (NET) will receive a stipend of Rs. 37,000 monthly for the first two years. Additionally, an annual contingent grant of Rs. 20,000 is provided directly to the fellow. The fellowship's terms and conditions will be regulated by CSIR, UGC, or the pertinent research scheme.

Upon completion of two years as a JRF and upon registration for a Ph.D. program, the fellowship will be upgraded to Senior Research Fellowship (SRF) (NET). The stipend will increase to Rs. 42,000 per month for the third year and subsequent years. This upgrade is contingent upon an assessment of the fellow's research progress and achievements, conducted through an interview by an Expert Committee. The committee comprises the Guide, the Head of the Department, and an External Member from outside the University/Institution who is an expert in the relevant field, holding a rank not below that of Professor/Associate Professor.
