A qualified applicant should belong to one of the following categories:
i) A Citizen of India
ii) A subject of Nepal
iii) A subject of Bhutan
iv) A Tibetan refugee who arrived in India before January 1, 1962, for permanent settlement
v) An individual of Indian origin who has relocated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, as well as from the East African countries of Kenya, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Uganda, Ethiopia, Malawi, Zaire and Vietnam, intending to establish permanent residency in India.
Note:- It is essential to note that candidates falling under (ii), (iii), (iv), and (v) categories must have an eligibility certificate issued by the Indian Government.
Applicants must have a birth date falling between 1 April 1996, and 31 March 2004, as of the cut-off date. However, there is a provision for relaxation in the upper age limit for some special categories such as ST/SC//OBC/PWBD, in accordance with the guidelines set by the Government of India.

An applicant should hold a bachelor's degree (in any field) from an accredited university or possess equivalent qualifications acknowledged by the Central Government. Additionally, candidates should have completed their graduation and obtained the passing certificate after 31 March 2020.
