Bihar CHO 2024 Notification has been issued by the State Health Society (SHS) Bihar on its official website. Online applications are invited for the post of Community Health Officer (on a contractual basis) at the Health & Wellness Centre (Health Sub Centres) under the National Health Mission. Bihar CHO Job Profile

The Bihar Community Health Officer (CHO) post is designed to lead the primary care provider team. This team includes female health workers, male health workers, ASHAs, and others. The CHOs work at Health Sub-Centres and Health & Wellness Centres (HSC-HWCs). Their responsibilities include implementing public health programs and enabling comprehensive primary health care service delivery. This encompasses disease prevention and health promotion. Community Health Officers are broadly expected to carry out public health functions, ambulatory care, and management and leadership at Health & Wellness Centers. Their responsibilities include:

a) Implementing National Programs. 

b) Administration and management at Health & Wellness Centers (or Sub Centers). 

c) Providing health education and promoting awareness about the five expanded ranges of services (as specified by MoHFW, GOI), including RMNCHNA and NCD. 

d) Delivering preventive, promotive, and curative care. 

e) Identifying 'danger signs' and making referrals after pre-referral stabilization. 

f) Implementing bio-medical waste disposal guidelines and infection control policies. 

g) Supervising health workers in maternal and child health, family planning, and nutrition-related services.

Educational Qualification

The required educational qualifications for the post of Bihar Community Health Officer (CHO) are as follows:

1. B.Sc. (Nursing) with successful completion of a six-month integrated curriculum of Certificate in Community Health (CCH) from an Indian Nursing Council/State Nursing Council recognized Institute or University, starting from the academic year 2020 onwards.
2. Post Basic B.Sc. (Nursing) with successful completion of a six-month integrated curriculum of Certificate Course in Community Health (CCH) from an Indian Nursing Council/State Nursing Council recognized Institute or University, starting from the academic year 2020 onwards.
   Note: For clarification, this refers to students who have undergone the 4th year of B.Sc. Nursing and the 2nd year of Post B.Sc. Nursing in the year 2019-2020 or later and have successfully passed the course.
3. B.Sc. (Nursing)/Post Basic B.Sc. (Nursing)/General Nurse and Midwifery (GNM) passed candidates who have completed the Certificate Course in Community Health (CCH) through IGNOU or other State Public Health/Medical Universities as per the curriculum specified by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India (for the eligibility of CHOs by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, GOI).

Bihar CHO 2024 Selection Process

The Bihar CHO Selection Process 2024 consists of two phases: a Computer Based Test (CBT) and Document Verification. The final selection will be based on the marks obtained in the CBT and the availability of vacancies according to the reservation roster. Candidates who qualify in the CBT will be called for Document Verification (DV) in a ratio of 1:2, based on their CBT scores and the vacancy availability as per the reservation roster.

Bihar CHO 2024 Exam Cut-off 

The Bihar NHM CHO Cut-Off is the minimum score a candidate must achieve to qualify for the CHO selection process. The SBHS determines the cut-off for all categories. Once the cut-off marks are declared by the Bihar SHS, candidates can download the cut-off PDF from the official website.
