Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has launched the ‘Come and Install Solar Power Projects’ initiative to encourage investment in the state's solar and solar energy projects. This is part of the state government initiative to turn Himachal Pradesh into a clean and green energy state by 31st March 2026.
The state government has launched a scheme to encourage people to rent lands to the government. Under this scheme, the government will pay a rent of Rs 20,000 per month to the farmers if they donate three bighas of land for the construction of a solar power plant.
The Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister, Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, inaugurated the five-day international Shri Renuka Ji Fair in the Sirmaur district of the state. The fair, which was held from 11 to 15 November 2024, is held along the banks of Lake Renuka.
The fair attracts thousands of devotees and tourists from India and abroad
The lake is named after Lord Parsuram's mother, Renuka. On the festival day, Parsuram is believed to be visiting the lake to meet his mother.
During the festival, the idols of Renuka ji and Parshuram are taken out in a procession for a dip into the lake's sacred waters.
The oval-shaped lake Renuka is the largest natural lake of Himachal Pradesh, spread over 2.5 km.
The four-day International Lavi fair came to an end on 14 November 2024. Shiv Pratap Shukla, Governor of Himachal Pradesh, inaugurated the four-day festival on 11 November.
The Lavi fair, held annually in Rampur town of Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh, is rooted in the trade treaty signed between Bushehar (Himachal Pradesh) and Tibet.
Rampur town, situated along the banks of the Sutlej River, was the trading point between the traders of Tibet and Bushehar. It is now an annual trade fair festival with international status by the government.
Woollen goods, dry fruits, and medicinal herbs imported from Tibet are bought and sold here. Now, it is emerging as a major cultural festival where the popular folk dance ‘Natti’ and other cultural shows are held.
