Indian badminton player Sathish Karunakaran won the BWF Super 100 Guwahati Masters 2024 badminton singles titles. In the doubles, the defending champion Ashwini Ponnappa and Tanisha Crasto successfully defended their title by beating the Chinese pair in the final.
The $100,000 lakh prize money BWF Super 100 Guwahati Masters 2024 was held in Guwahati, Assam, from 3 to 8 December 2024. It was the second BWF Super 100 Guwahati Masters after the inaugural edition of 2023.
The BWF Super 100 Guwahati Masters 2024 was organised jointly by the Badminton Association of India and the Assam Badminton Association. The event mainly provides exposure to the young and emerging badminton talent.
Satish Karunakaran won his second Super 100 badminton title at Guwahati by defeating Zhu Xuan Chen of China, 21-17, 21-14 in the final played on 8 December 2024.
The 23-year-old Satish Karunakaran won his first Super 100 title by winning the 2023 Odisha Masters Super 100 title.
The Indian women duo of Ashwini Ponnappa and Tanisha Crasto successfully defended their doubles title by defeating the Chinese pair of Li Hua Zhou and Wang Zi Meng 21-18, 21-12 in the final.
However, India missed another title win as Anmol Kharb lost her final match against the Cai Yan Ya of China in the Women’s final.
At the Guwahati Master 2024, India and China won two titles each, while Malaysia won the men’s doubles title.
