Narendra Modi sworn in for a historic third time as Prime Minister

Narendra Damadordas Modi was sworn in as the Prime Minister of India for the third consecutive time by President Droupadi Murmu on 9 June 2024. He was administered the oath of office of secrecy by President Droupadi Murmu in a simple ceremony in the Rastrapathi Bhawan in New Delhi. He is the second person after Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru to be sworn in as the Prime Minister of India for the third consecutive time.
Along with the Prime Minister, 71 ministers - 30 cabinet ministers and 41 ministers of state, five with independent charge, were also administered the oath of office by President Murmu.
Narendra Modi equalled the record of India’s first prime minister, Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru records of being sworn in as the prime minister of India for the third consecutive time after the implementation of the constitution.
