Bharat Electronics Limited and Esri India sign MoU to develop GIS, GeoAI solutions

Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Esri India Technologies Private Limited on 3 August 2026 in Bengaluru, aimed at cooperation in surge deployment for BEL/Defence Services, combining defence electronics expertise with GIS, location intelligence and GeoAI capabilities.

1. The MoU was exchanged between Shri Rajnish Sharma, Director (BC) & Additional Charge Director (Marketing), BEL, and Shri Agendra Kumar, Managing Director, Esri India, in the presence of Smt. Ruchi Pant, GM (TP), and Shri Anil Kumar Singh, GM (SP).
2. Under the MoU, BEL's expertise in defence electronics and systems integration will be combined with Esri India's strengths in GIS, location intelligence and GeoAI to address opportunities in the defence sector. 
3. The two organisations will work together to ensure GIS solutions are made available and deployed quickly to meet urgent, surge-driven requirements across India's defence initiatives. Esri India will also provide training support to help BEL build in-house GIS and GeoAI capability using its 'Indo ArcGIS' platform.
