The central government has approved a minimum support price (MSP) of Rs 2369 per quintal (Rs 2300 per quintal last year) for the common paddy crops to be grown in the kharif season of the 2025-26 agricultural marketing season.
The agricultural marketing season in India is from July to June.
Kharif crops refer to the crops sown with the onset of the southwest monsoon (June/July) and harvested before the onset of the winter season (October/November).
The MSP for the mandated crops for the Kharif season was approved by the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) in a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and held in New Delhi on 28 May 2025.
Since 2018-19, the MSP on the mandated crops has been fixed at 1.5 times the All-India weighted average Cost of Production.
The highest increase in MSP compared to last year is Rs 820 per quintal for the nigerseed crop, followed by Rs 596 per quintal for Ragi, Rs 589 per quintal for cotton, and Rs 579 per quintal for Sesamum.
The following are the announced MSPs for the mandated Kharif crops for the 2025-26 marketing season.
