England captain Harry Brook has scored the fastest double century in men’s ODI history. He played the innings against Sri Lanka in Rawalpindi on October 22, 2026, and England finished on 429/4.
The match was part of the 2026 Pakistan Tri-Nation Series at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. Brook reached 200 in only 114 balls and ended on 202 off 116 deliveries. His innings had 21 fours and 10 sixes. It was his first double century in the format.
No England batter had ever crossed 200 in an ODI. The earlier best for England was Ben Stokes’ 182 against New Zealand in 2023. Brook beat that by 20 runs and became the first Englishman to score an ODI double century.
Brook’s 202 is also the highest individual ODI score by a batter who did not open the innings.
The previous record belonged to India captain Shubman Gill, who reached 200 in 117 balls against the West Indies in Guwahati in September 2026. Brook was three balls faster, so Gill’s record lasted only a few weeks.
