About Asian Youth Para Games 2025:
- This 5th edition of the APYG was held across 8 venues and was conducted under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
- The event was organized by the Asian Paralympic Committee (APC) in collaboration with the Dubai Club for People of Determination and the Dubai Sports Council (DSC). The event saw participation from more than 1500 participants from 35 countries and more than 700 volunteers.
- Sports categories: The games included 11 sports such as para archery, para athletics, para badminton, boccia, goalball, para powerlifting, para swimming, para taekwondo, para table tennis, wheelchair basketball and para arm-wrestling.
- Mascot: The official mascot of the Asian Youth Para Games 2025 is “Foxy”, inspired by the Emirati desert fox, which is a native species of the UAE.
Key highlights of Asian Youth Para Games 2025:
- Top 3 countries: Iran secured second place in the medal tally with 262 medals, including 76 gold, 96 silver and 88 bronze. Iran won 104 medals in para swimming and 82 medals in para athletics.
- Japan secured third place with 77 medals, including 40 gold medals, 25 silver and 12 bronze.
- At the 2025 APYG, 25 records were broken, including 9 world records and 16 Asian records, showcasing outstanding performances.
- India’s medal tally: India won 28 medals in para athletics (10 gold, 7 silver and 11 bronze), 19 medals in para swimming (8 gold, 5 silver, 6 bronze), 5 medals in para table tennis (1 gold, 2 silver, 2 bronze), 3 medals in para powerlifting (1 silver, 2 bronze) and 2 medals in para taekwondo (2 bronze).

- It was organized as APYG in 2009 in Tokyo (Japan). Other editions include the second edition Kuala Lumpur (KL) (Malaysia) (2013), third (2017) (Dubai, UAE) and fourth (2021) Manama (Bahrain).
