Emmerson Mnangagwa was re-elected 2nd Time for President of Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe ‘s election commission on 27 August 2023 announced the incumbent president Emmerson Mnangagwa as the winner of the presidential election held on 23 August 2023 . However the opposition has rejected the result announced by the Zimbabwe’s Election Commission. Zimbabwe's president has a term of five years .
According to the Zimbabwe’s Election Commission , Emmerson Mnangagwa of ruling ZANU-PF party secured around 53% of the votes while Nelson Chamisa, who leads the opposition Citizens' Coalition for Change (CCC) party, secured 44% of the votes.
Emmerson Mnangagwa became the president of Zimbabwe after the resignation of former president Robert Mugabe in 2017. In the last presidential election held in 2018 Emmerson Mnangagwa defeated Nelson Chamisa.
Zimbabwe has one of the highest inflation rates in the world. The central bank of Zimbabwe suspended the use of the Zimbabwe dollar as a legal currency in 2009 due to hyperinflation in the country .
The Zimbabwe central bank has allowed US dollars,South African rand, pula from Botswana, British pound sterling of the United Kingdom, Australian dollars, Chinese yuan, Indian rupees and Japanese yen to be used as a legal tender in the country
The Republic of Zimbabwe was earlier called Southern Rhodesia. It is a landlocked country of Southern Africa.
It got Independence from the United Kingdom in 1980.
