Technology company Infosys has appointed Spain’s men’s world number 1 tennis player Carlos Alcaraz as its global brand ambassador.
This deal is part of Infosys’s successful tradition of partnerships with tennis legends, which includes Rafael Nadal (Spain) and Iga Swiatek (Poland).
The company said that it will work together with Alcaraz and his coaching team to use Infosys Topaz.
It is an AI-first offering based on generative and agentic AI technology. Its objective is to create AI-based match analytics and a personalized performance application, so that assistance can be provided in match preparation and strategy during the game.
This partnership will also include a joint initiative between Infosys and the Carlos Alcaraz Foundation, whose aim is to create social impact using technology. In this, special emphasis will be given to 'tech-for-good' (technology for good) initiatives.
Carlos Alcaraz González was born on May 5, 2003, in El Palmar, Murcia, Spain.
Carlos Alcaraz Garfia is a Spanish professional tennis player. Alcaraz has won seven Grand Slam titles and is the youngest player to become the world number one player in men’s tennis.
He has achieved a 'Career Grand Slam' (winning all four major tournaments) and earlier also became the youngest world number one player at the age of 19.
He is the Olympic silver medalist in men’s singles at the Paris 2024 Games.
At the Madrid Open, 2022, he is the first player to defeat Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic in the same event.
Established in 1981 in Pune, India, by seven engineers including Narayana Murthy with an initial capital of just $250, Infosys has grown from a small consultancy to a leading global technology services company.
After shifting its headquarters to Bengaluru in 1983, the company introduced the 'Global Delivery Model', issued its IPO (public issue) in 1993, and became the first Indian company to be listed on NASDAQ in 1999.
In 1992, the name was changed to Infosys Technologies Private Limited and finally changed to Infosys Limited in 2011.
