PM Modi Concludes First Ever Official Visit to Croatia, 4 MoUs Signed

Prime Minister Narendra Modi concluded his visit to the European nation of Croatia with the signing of four Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) between the two countries.
The Prime Minister was on a three-nation visit to Cyprus, Canada, and Croatia from 15 to 19 June 2025.
The Prime Minister attended the Outreach session of the 51st G7 summit meeting, which Canada hosted in Kananaskis, Alberta, Canada, from June 15 to 17, 2025.
The following four MoUs were exchanged between India and Croatia.
India established diplomatic relations with Croatia in July 1992.
The total trade between the two countries was $306.03 million (January -November 2024).
During this period, Indian exports were $251.59 million, while imports from Croatia were $54.44 million.
Indian culture and philosophy are popular in Croatia.
Ivan Filip Vezdin of Croatia was the first European scholar to publish a printed Sanskrit grammar in 1790. In 1999,a plaque was unveiled in his honour at Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.
It is located in the Balkan Peninsula of Southeast Europe.
It was an earlier part of Yugoslavia, but it gained independence in 1992 following the civil war and the disintegration of Yugoslavia.
Croatia is part of the Western military alliance, the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) and the European Union (EU).
On 1 January 2023, it became the 20th country in the EU to adopt the common currency, the euro.
