The inaugural International Day of Conscience was commemorated in 2020. The first ‘International Day of Conscience’ was celebrated in 2020 by the United Nations General Assembly.
This year in 2024, the fifth United Nations International Day of Conscience is being celebrated across the world.

Importance of International Conscience Day:

This day is celebrated to highlight the importance and role of discretion in preventing people from harming others verbally, physically, sexually or mentally.
International Day of Conscience is celebrated to highlight that everyone has the right to self-respect and everyone has the right to live in peace and security.

Origin of the culture of peace:
