In August 2023, Shohini Sinha, an Indian-American, was appointed as the special agent in charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation's (FBI) field office in Salt Lake City, Utah, in the United States.
She is widely recognized for her outstanding contributions to counter-terrorism investigations within the country.
Prior to this role, Shohini Sinha held the position of Executive Special Assistant to the Director at FBI Headquarters in Washington DC.
Shohini Sinha's impressive career began in 2001 when she joined the FBI as a special agent. Over the years, she has taken on pivotal assignments, including roles at the Guantanamo Bay Naval Base, the FBI Legal Attache's Office in London, and the Baghdad Operations Center. Due to her remarkable performance, she was promoted to supervisory special agent in 2009 and subsequently transferred to the Counterterrorism Division in Washington, DC.
In 2012, Shohini Sinha's capabilities led to her promotion as Assistant Legal Attaché in Ottawa, Canada, where she collaborated with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and the Canadian Security Intelligence Service on counter-terrorism matters. Her dedication and competence paved the way for her appointment as the Executive Special Assistant to the FBI Director in Washington in 2021.

Sinha's academic background includes a bachelor's degree in psychology and a master's degree in mental health counseling from Purdue University in Indiana.
